Well are they ever going to interview anyone.

Tragic car wreck that claimed the life of one of their students moved the process back as it should have. This blizzard and the AD is also the girls basketball coach. I have word from a pretty good source that interviews will likely start after the district bball tourney.

I think Versailles/Woodford is just sort of in an odd area, sports/athletics related. Yes they are in a more suburban area and close to Lexington, but I believe they are more comparable to a rural student/athlete base. My opinion here, but I just don't see them as a school that would do any more than having some decent teams here and there, and nothing consistent, on the football field. I don't think all the ingredients are there, and unless something odd happened, I don't see anything changing that.

It is odd that nobody has any clue who all has applied or who the favorites may be. I don't like the approach of saying "we want a guy with head coaching experience period." Sure that would be nice but I think sometimes schools hire guys who aren't very good coaches just because they have head coaching experience. I'd rather have a guy who has been a long time assistant that wants a shot than a guy who isn't very good as a head coach.

I would say if they can get a proven head coach that is what they are talking about. You can hear the crickets in the weight room though. Should have already had someone hired. This might chase off some good coaches that think maybe they don't take it very serious.

I woudl say the weather has played a part in the process being delayed. Woodford County also is hosting the district tournament this year so I would say that also has slowed the process down.

Golden eagle are you saying no one has had the kids in the weight room? If that's the case shame on the Woodford co admin for allowing this to happen.

No I don't know that I am just saying that with no head coach in place how many kids do you think will really work hard or show up at all.

Kids are going to get away with what they can get away with. They are kids and they will get by with anything they can. Or most of them will. IMO

Woodford district tourney starts tonight. If Woodford gets beat out they would have to start making phone calls to set up interviews I would think. When did they do Spring Ball last year or when are they scheduled to do it this year?
