Holmes 64 Highlands 62

Lmao! Big 2? HHS probably proved any given day, any given time, they hold their own. Double OT loss to HC didn't prove anything. Loss by 2 in a hard fought slug fest, is no dominance by Holmes. More like your Big 2 will have to slug it out in Districts, one may draw Highlands, but Ryle has been on fire, so Regional maybe a quick one and done if either Big 2 draw these teams and ball doesn't go their way. Take stall ball out of the game, that's 2 min prior Highlands was on Fire and Holmes new they could go for another run. Didn't see one Holmes player not out of breath during that 2 min. They are very quick, very athletic, strong in the middle as I've said, but Highlands has the cardio to run, keep the pace, shoot the ball. Don't know why we went to the basket with 54 sec left? Call TO, stall ball, then they would have had win on last shot. It is what it is, only matter at Regionals. Comebacks and Karma sucks, Holmes did not make it out of Districts last year when they beat Highlands, so who knows what Cinderella has in store.

You said a little while saying a lot! ! Wish Leigh a speedy recovery!

Very exciting game, first off, sure hope the young lady from Highlands is ok, wishing her the best, lots of respect. For Highlands, fist time I have seen this this year, lots of nice players and We'll coached, it was a regional type feeling,Have to give the Bulldogs a lot of credit, it looked like a blow out was coming, but they never gave up and played with a lot of heart, there is no big two , like others have said , think The three H's, Holmes, Highlands and Holy Cross Are the top three, but Ryle is very good, Noter Dame and Boone are always dangerous, great win for the Bulldogs, good luck to both teams, if you was not there, you missed a good one.

Does anyone know the fouls ratio? Because there were a ton of fouls called against holmes. Highlands picked some up late! They way the Bulldogs never gave up is relentless. They fought back against HC and did it against HHS. In all honest, the Birds are a team to watch out for. The officiating was terrible in my eyes. But this was a great game by both teams.

A ton of fouls in the first half for both teams. Think the fouls were close to even in the first half. The second half, Holmes turned up the heat and got a lot of fouls called on them early. It ended up about 12-9 (i think) in the second half. HHS is very rarely in foul trouble because of the way they play defense. That is has been that way all year and tonight, they stayed back in the zone and didn't really challenge shots under the basket...meaning they stand straight up with their hands high. So honestly, the way Holmes lack of attacking the basket and content to throw it around the outside, it didn't really put HHS in a tough situation to have to foul. Once Holmes started attacking the basket, guess what, the fouls started to catch up! I'm by no means saying that they couldn't have called fouls on HHS. But they also could have called more on Holmes. Just mean that it wasn't one sides. It was the way each team was playing. When the fouls were lopsided, HHS was attacking the basket and Holmes was not.

Region will be fun, congrat to Holmes on the win and most of all good health to Leigh. She hit really hard.

Sounds like you should be adddressing Tellitlikeitis instead of the Lady Dogs and what they did or didn't last year. Most of the Lady Dog fans on here give credit to both HHS and HC. And generally are supporters of the girls that they know from both HHS and HC so please dont let ones comment bait you into thinking that we as Bulldog fans dont know and respect HHS. Cause I for one give credit where it is due, these young ladies deserve far better from all fans from all the teams. True followers of the girl programs know that none of the teams want to face each other come tourney time but one will have that draw and that is all that matters. You are absolutely right that Holmes did not make it out of the Distrcits last year but if my memory is correct none of them brought the State Championship trophy back either. I wish all of them the best of luck this year and no matter which one wins the Region I'll be cheering them on down state. Go Lady Dogs:clap:!!

First Highlands game I have seen this year. A few observations from tonight. The Lady Birds do not box out or rebound very well. Holmes got so many second chance opportunities it was ridiculous. I also noticed that they are not very strong with the ball. If you pressure them they really struggle. I thought the refereeing was a little suspect to say the least. You can't call it one way at the beginning of the game and do a complete 360 at the end. Holmes was committing illegal screens all night long and they were never called. You can't put your arms out like you blocking someone in a football game and move your feet while you're settling a pick..This happened all night long.

You weren't there??

Couldn't make this one apprenticeship classes Tuesday's and Thursday's,:no: always seems the good games are on these days!

Great job lady dogs way to pull away with the win. I hope Leigh gets well soon she hit pretty hard. I wish the Lady Birds good luck the rest of the season they played hard and #10 dropped some back to back to back big ones on us great player

Well keep in mind that Holmes kills everyone on the offensive boards. It's what they do! Also keep in mind we played without our 6'2" center for 31 of the 32 minutes tonight. That makes a huge difference for our team. No, not excuses, just addressing the rebounding comment. Also, our second leading rebounder spent the entire second half on the bench. So I agree with what you saw, but our two best rebounders only played 2 quarters between them.

I also agree that they need to be stronger with the ball. Especially at the end of the game. But also keep in mind that HHS played the entire second half without two starters on the floor and the last 5 minutes of the game without 3 starters when Graves fouled out. That was exactly when Holmes made the run. Not taking ANYTHING away from the Holmes kids because they showed a ton of heart coming back. I was impressed they didn't give up.

What game was you watching? You must not know how to set a pick and the way your explaining it is totally wrong. But i did see pushing off on both teams that was only called on Holmes. I do agree the refs were really horrible

#10 is the real deal

Have to say I was very surprised, but very happy to see Holmes lost her for about 3 possessions in a row. She can light it up for sure.

Great game to watch just as a fan. Holmes D fell asleep with no pressure on Adler for about 5 straight possessions which almost cost them. But, the Holmes pressure just wears teams down. It will be interesting to see how their pressure transitions to the big floor if they make the region; it certainly does make a difference. Hard played game by both teams.

So when your engaged setting a pick with your arms out not down to your side your aloud to move your feet? That's a new one to me!

Any updates on the injury to Leigh?

I just watched the video of her drive to the basket. You can't SEE her hit the ground, but OMG you can HEAR it!

Gave me chills...

Hope she recovers quickly!
