Rasheed Sulaimon dismissed from Duke

I'm not a Duke fan in any way, shape or form, but I think of Coach K as a class act.

It's probably the only players he's ever kicked off a team, but how many players have decided to leave after being strongly 'encouraged' to do so. There's a multitude of ways to do that and it probably is used by all coaches at one time or the other. Plus it sounds a whole lot better than saying said player was "kicked off". It also helps keeps the coaches "kick off" statistics at a low number.

Right, but even in those situations, almost every one of them is after the season. The fact that this happened mid-season tells me there was a whole lot going on, or he did something really dumb after the Notre Dame game.

Sounds a lot like the Percy Harvin situation. When there is a cancer in the locker room you have to get rid of it.

Jay Bilas said on Sports Center this morning that is was a accumulation of things.

Any word on where he is at? headed to? Is he still enrolled at Duke? When does he have to make a decision on a college, the NBA,etc.?

Still enrolled is what I heard.

I remember one of the articles mentioning that he planned on finishing up the spring semester at Duke.

Might be more to this story. Could get interesting.

That's a bad look. University knew in April?

No official complaints were ever filed so no investigation took place.

Appears the coaches were made aware a year ago this month. In fairness you can't just go and suspend at the first whisper of any misconduct, but it does appear this could have been picking up steam in the fall which explains his sudden departure.

And the cat is out of the bag. We all knew there was something there, guess we found it.
