January 25, 201511 yr Bama's offense has done well IMO under Kiffin. It seems to me that Bama's defense has slipped the past couple of years. Maybe Kirby Smart needs to do better.

January 25, 201511 yr Probably the best move for him if he ever wants to be a head coach again. If he can develop a QB, Bama could have one of the SEC's top offenses.

January 27, 201511 yr I feel bad for Alabama fans. Why? He may not have done well as a head coach but he has been successful as a coordinator.
January 27, 201511 yr Kiffin is a heck of a coordinator. Now that Sims is gone, he should have a QB that can actually make plays.

Exactly, if Kiffin had taken off after that short of a stint again then imo his reputation / character would have taken another huge hit. He was going along on his dad's name / reputation and has rode that out. Kiffin can stay more than a year or two under an established reputation like Saban has and be a lot more valuble, character wise hire. jmo
