Why does Knott get jumped by Henderson?

Quality of wins against opponents. Beating Hoptown at Hoptown > beating Letcher Co. Central and Powell Co., in other words, they earned it, IMO.

They'll get an opportunity to face Hoptown on Saturday which will give a nice little apples to apples comparison.

Last week KCC defeated Letcher County Central and Powell County. Henderson County went on the road and defeated a ranked Hoptown team. They got a some credit for that as their resume continues to impress.

They have won games at the right times and the only in state schools they have lost to are Doss and Central.

Good point but I believe the only ranked team they have beaten in KY is Bryan Station. Fern Creek played with them in a close game and they only beat Seneca by 4 back on 12/22..

No argument there. I feel like in PRP's case they ahve done more to stay where they have been ranked than not. They very well could belong in the bottom half of the rankings but to date they haven't done much to prove they do or don't belong where they are at. They have just had good timing.

Add in the fact that IMO this year the Sweet 16 is totally wide open amongst about 15-20 teams because of parity and putting together a solid and totally accurate top 20 becomes an amazing chore.

Number 3 is nice...Letcher Central is a district game, Powell Co. is an annual game that has been played since 1976 (Powell won the first game palyed in Morton Combs Athletic Complex) My point is that the Patriots beat # 1 ranked teams in Arkansas and Arizona both by double figures, lost to # 1 team in Florida by 1 point, beat the #3 team in South Carolina by 30 +.......

Who all have they beat in Kentucky? Which top teams?

With the exception of Christmastime the rankings are done week to week.

KCC has never been ranked lower than third or higher than second and to date those are their three best wins against in-state competition.

Henderson County has defeated Trinity, LexCath at LexCath, Manual, Hoptown at Hoptown, Warren Central twice, Bowling Green, Murray and Bardstown.

To date Henderson County has a more impressive resume and the rankings reflect that IMO. Had Henderson County not played Hoptown last week they likely wouldn't have passed KCC.

I agree. Don't get me wrong, I love a good mountain team but they shouldn't be higher than 3 at this time.

Again, Saturday vs. Hoptown on a neutral court will give a better idea about KCC

When at full strength I have a hard time thinking 13 teams are better than Owensboro. Also - Daviess County is 14-3 and beat Henderson and Apollo - they deserve some consideration.

Walter won't be happy when he sees your rankings and probably with good reason. You have omitted his Holmes bulldogs. Holmes has won 11 in a row with an early loss to Henry Clay by 12 and 2 other losses to Ballard by 12 and Bullitt East by 2 in the King of the Bluegrass. I guess this week will tell more about them as they go on the road to Mason Co. tomorrow and then play CCH on the road Friday and travel to Montgomery Co. to play Trinty in the Joe B. Hall classic Saturday afternoon.

He has had Holmes out of the top 25 for a few weeks now yet can't make a legit argument for why.

BGP got Holmes' ranking right at #15 and they'll have a chance to improve upon that with a strong showing this week. Their play right now speaks for itself. Unlike the other teams he listed, they have no bad losses and continue to win.
