Wrong! I do not know the guy. We have never spoken a word to each other. I'm sure he is a wonderful person.

 

I am not a fan of his coaching style. I do think he is a pretty good coach, I just think his style keeps him from being an even better coach.

You do realize they are probably the worst of the 3 teams in the Kenton County School District don't you? I don't see kids lining up to play at Scott which I have always thought was a credit to Carr. He plays with the kids he has. You don't often see stud transfers coming into Scott like you do some other basketball schools in NKY.

Kenton County is massive and growing everyday. I don't think it is fair to use open enrollment to commend or condemn coach Carr. I see no shortage of players either, but are the best of the best in the county lining up to attend Scott. Or is it more realistic that kids are going to the most convenient school that parents believe they will be educated well and have an opportunity to play ball.

 

Please understand I am not questioning coach Carr. I am questioning coaches like him with that in your face Bob Knight style. Does it still resonate with kids today? No one can truly know the relationship of a coach and players, so it makes it hard to judge.

 

Four teams left in the NFL, are those coaches known for extreme discipline? Best team in college basketball, UK, does Cal come across over the top? That old dude that coaches the Spurs, does he seem to be a players coach, resting guys throughout the season, or a push-push guy?

 

It's a debatable topic. That's all I am saying. Nothing about coach Carr. Just question if this generation of athletes responds well to it.

Just was asking bc I played for Holmes from 78-81 and never experienced Coach Flynn doing that during my time. But it sure is an interesting point.

Scott's enrollment is 500-600 less than both other Kenton County Schools, so Scott definitely has less of a pool to choose from. Are there currently any impact players for either Dixie or SK that live in Scott's district? Just not sure the "best of the best" are lining up to play at Dixie or SK either.

Great point !! Scott is considered 4A due to size. Not sure on kids in school area playing elsewhere? Good question.
