Did CCH play stall ball back in the day? I'm little surprised by the list and the players who have gone through.

The four main are Blessed Sacrament, Saint Joes (Cresent Springs), Saint Agnes, and Saint Pius. But a lot of kids come from all over nky. The Boone county catholic schools send a lot to CCH. I'm pretty sure that Saint Pius is the biggest of the four though. But all four have had there fair share of athletes. The 04' team that went to the state semis, I think it was something like four of the five starters were from Saint Agnes. It varies from year to year and from sport to sport where to top players come from. But for basketball I'd say Saint Pius has had to most kids make the team over the past few years. But I could be wrong.

I'm sure some of those are wrong and I missed some kids from outside the main 4 feeder schools.

Generally there is a handful of kids from St. Paul & IHM. Maybe one or two from Mary Queen.

Most of the Catholic schools that Cov Cath draws from offer all major sports, with the exception of football. If you get into the inner city and more rural schools, though, they may not offer so many sports. All of the schools mentioned by Jim Ignatowski have basketball teams, though.

There are several leagues that these teams can play in. I'm coaching a team of kids that were cut from the A team and we play in a catholic school league that has mostly these type of teams. I can see several kids on these teams playing at the next level as they continue to mature and those studs on the A team reach their plateau.

TAC . . . Kudos to you for coaching the "non A-team players". I agree many can continue playing in high school. Two of my most rewarding coaching seasons were 7th/8th grade "B" teams. I had a kid a few years back who started varsity by Sr. year. He scored the 1st ten points of a game in the 9th region tourney that year. Another kid has played 4 yrs. at UL on the men's practice squad that scrimmages the women's team regularly. The UL women have been very successful over last 4 yrs. He's gotten a few perks out of the deal (gear, trips, etc.)
