Trinity High School announces 2015 and 2016 football schedules

Featured Replies

Trinity High School, Kentucky’s 23-time football state champion, announces its 2015 and 2016 varsity football schedules. Each schedule continues to feature top-caliber competition from Kentucky and Tennessee.

The schedule includes the rivalry game against cross-town foe St. Xavier High School on Oct. 2, 2015. The game annually draws one of the largest crowds for a regular-season high school game in America.

Trinity will welcome back to campus Ensworth High School (2014 Tennessee state title runners-up). Trinity is also resuming a series with Brentwood Academy, another Nashville powerhouse.

New regular season, non-district opponents the next two years are Male High School, Pleasure Ridge Park High School and Lexington Lafayette High School.

Trinity plays in a new district starting in 2015, which will renew rivalries against Ballard High School, Eastern High School, Jeffersontown High School and Seneca High School.

Director of Athletics Rob Saxton stated, “We think our fans will enjoy these games. There is a nice blend of local and out-of-town opponents. Our coaches have proven themselves capable of getting a team ready for the long season. I know our players will give it all they have.”

Head coach Bob Beatty said, “Having the schedule in place for the next two years enables us to prepare thoroughly. We will work hard to rise to the challenge.”

The Shamrocks begin preparation for the 2015 season in January.

Ten-game schedules for both the freshman and junior varsity squads are nearing completion.

Surprised there are no GCL teams.

Tough schedule, none the less.

Nice schedules and I am glad to see some teams/schools step up.

Are Ballard, Eastern, Seneca, and J-Town all in the Shamrocks' district under the new alignment?

Yes.

Much more road games in 2016

Neutral site games (X at PJ'S) always cause for a 5 home/4 home over a two year span.

..unless I'm misreading the 16 schedule.

Thanks for posting the schedules. Those Nashville teams are tough.

Suprised to see Lex Lafayette play Trinity. Wasn't there an unwritten rule that Lex publics were to not play the privates? Or am I behind the times?

Cincy teams are sort of in a bind. Due to how their playoffs work (the Harbin system? is that what it is called?) they pretty much have to beat out of state teams and those have to be out of state teams who achieve good records for points purposes. So, back when the Cincy teams could reliably beat Trinity and also Trinity would reliably have a good record, they loved playing Trinity to help them in the play off points system. After Trinity started winning some of the Cincy games and then had a rough year in 2013, playing Trinity was just too risky. While I wish T could get a Cincy game a year, I don't blame the Cincy teams.

Lafayette has 2 D1 Oline prospects, 1 of which is committed to UK who wil be a senior & the other who will be a junior holds 3 offers including UK, not surprised they are willing to play the Rocks, should be a good one.

I'm pretty sure if Trinity wanted to play a GCL team they would have been able to find a game since they usually have to play three or four teams from outside the state to fill their schedule.

What does Trinity have returning next year or are they dropping down talent wise with the other KY schools?

Trinity will crush Lafayette.

I commend the Generals for stepping up but after seeing them play the last couple of years they are no where near ready for this.

Maybe the crybaby coach that got it all stirred up doesn't have the influence he once had.
