I'm looking forward to the end of the month. Manual vs Eastern. Trinity vs. Doss, and the list goes on.

At 12-1, Mason County should be there.

I am not sold on LexCath at a record of 8-5.

Do you believe Williamsburg should be ranked also? They are undefeated at 10-0.

LexCath has defeated Scott County and Boyle County and handled everyone else fairly easily on their schedule. I don't see a win on Mason County's schedule that I would consider better than LexCath defeating Scott County. LexCath's win against Boyle County is easily a much better win for them as well. If not for the loss against Lafayette I think a credible argument for LexCath being in the top 10 could be made.

Mason County's opportunity to make a statement is coming against Campbell County. I'd say the only team I could see myself choosing Mason County over would be Calloway County.

No love for the 10th Region?

I love the 10th Region more than the other 15 combined, but I don't think any of our teams merit a Top 20 ranking right now. Mason County is on the cusp of it, and as PP92 said, they've got some chances to get there. Next 3 games are all on the road against Campbell County, a surging Boone County, & Boyd County, who is presently the top team in the 16th.

As it stands, Mason's best win right now is at home against Madison Central.

Spot on.

It may come as a surprise to some that I'm a Mason County fan. Not as ardent as a few years back when my kids were in school, but I still try to catch most of the home games.

I've seen a few of their games and have yet to see them put a full four quarters together. If they can do so against some of the teams coming up on the schedule, they can crack the top 20.

Until then, I believe that the computer polls have them too high. Maxpreps is close, Had the Royals at 19 before the 2-point loss to Lincoln County; now sitting at 23.

I'm really interested in seeing how Christian County does. They have some good wins after their Owensboro debacle and they have a challenging enough schedule to see if they are a contender or pretender.

I'll add the Hopkins County Central debacle as well. They have a couple good wins (Calloway and Bowling Green), but I'm still not sold on them being able to beat Henderson and Hoptown.

I will just say this.

GRC will be there by the end of the season.

Based upon the one team from this list that I have seen play, I'd have to speculate these rankings are pretty good.

I'm not familiar with GRC's region, but have watched GRC several times over the last couple of years and have grown to like them (except when they play my team :)... so, who are the favorites in their region?

Mason County and Campbell County are the two favorites in the 10th region. I would say GRC is a solid 3 and wouldn't be surprised if they ended up winning the region. Don't count out Paris, Montgomery, Scott, or Harrison. Harrison is an especially interesting team to follow now that Jenkins is back with them. The 10th is very competitive this season.

Clark County (9-3) has lost 3 games by a combined total of only 10 points.

Watch out for Clark County.

And lost to the 4th best team in the 9th region. ..moving along.

Holmes will play Covcath and Trinity back to back nights... 1/23-1/24.

Good luck. That's a test, indeed.

To add to that...Newcath will play Holmes and Trinity in back to back games in Feb...2/13-2/17.

Not as rough as back to back days but a good test for all three teams mentioned.

There are a ton of great games on the slate the rest of the way for a lot of teams. The cream will rise to the top. The rest will sink.

Boyle, with that backcourt, will be highly ranked come late February.
