December 29, 201411 yr Author Steelers & Tomlin are upset because Bell got hurt--Get it!! When they look at the replays, they'll see it was just a bad timing accident. Legal hit above the knee, but the leg was planted and hyperextended the knee. Every team would react the same way. Pats reacted same way when Gronk went down last year on exact same play. It's natural.
December 29, 201411 yr AJ Green can only dream of being the impact player Antonio Brown is. That and the Steelers dominating the LOS on both sides of the ball was the difference... As long as Dalton is the QB, Green (or any other receiver) would need to be about 7' 2" to catch most of his passes? Everything's consistently high--Something receivers dream of--Or is that nightmares?
December 29, 201411 yr Both lines were embarrassing tonight! "O" line was overrun most of the night, often when Steelers rushed only three. "D" Line got zero pressure all night--Ben could have been sitting on the can and still completed passes, instead of running there at the breaks. Steelers had 29 yards rushing tonight. Hill had 100 yards rushing. Bengals won the rushing battle but lost the pass protection battle. That is who they are on offense - good rushing line but average at best in pass protection.

December 29, 201411 yr He could have gone for the thigh or the ankles. He had plenty of time to decide. Maybe he can grab his flag next time as well?
December 29, 201411 yr The Bengals held the steelers to 30 rush yards and didn't let the steelers dominate the clock like they wanted. It would have been nice to see a little more pressure on Big Ben but overall defense played solid. Special teams gave up 7 and one of the offensive turnovers put the Steelers in field goal range to start. So the defense really only gave up 17 that's not to bad. Offense can't have the turnovers and special teams can't give up touchdowns.

That is who they are on offense - good rushing line but average at best in pass protection. Bingo. That is this teams identity. They are a running team and that is because they aren't very good at stretching the field. If I was AJ, I don't know if I want to sign here. He is being laid out many times to get crushed by his QB's throws.

That is who they are on offense - good rushing line but average at best in pass protection. Why would you ever run against the Bengals? No pass rush, no blitzes--Passing game's dream. Only a decent secondary keeps it close. Mike, Marvin & Company have spent a fortune over the years investing in high draft choices for the lines, especially the "D" line; with very disappointing results overall.
December 29, 201411 yr Green played bad but they need him next week. I wanted to win tonight. However as I mentioned before the game, their best chance to win might be to play on the road next week.

Before knowing the Ravens were in that would have been their best bet to play on the road. But knowing we could have had the Ravens who are really bad, I'd take the Ravens over being embarrassed by the Colts next week.

Which high draft choices? Still is the main high draft d line man they have picked that's been basically a bust. Hunt was a project when they drafted him so no surprise there.

Neither of my issues were a result of Dalton making a bad throw and hanging AJ out to dry...

But knowing we could have had the Ravens who are really bad, I'd take the Ravens over being embarrassed by the Colts next week. Agree to disagree. I have disagreed with your calling of the Ravens bad all year. They have many weapons on offense and a solid defense. For them it just depends which Flacco shows up. The Bengals have shown they play better with backs against the wall and people not believing in them. So playing the Colts is not a bad thing.
