I don't know exact specifics but a few years ago, Eflin Tyler played in a varsity game at Dixie, transferred to Lloyd, and was eligible two weeks later. You never know with the KHSAA.

For his sake I sure hope that he gets the green light to play his junior year. A kid only gets one chance at a high school career, and typically the junior and senior season is a player's optimal years to have an impact and create lasting memories.

 

It would be unfortunate if his junior season was stifled by a technicality that would force him to have to watch it go by with a view from the bench. I understand why certain rules are in place, and I imagine the main one is to prevent a team from stacking their roster just before tournament play, but in this case it's still early season, and I personally can't see what the problem would be.

Danny, if you're concluding that I'm suggesting a fudging of the rules, then you've misunderstood me.

Of course he'll have to live by whatever rules are in place. I've no objection if the present rules prevent him from playing if that's how they're written, and it's only fair that every player must live by them.

 

Whatever the rules are, I'm not suggesting a bending of them or making exceptions for anyone.

 

Personally, if I were writing them, I would have certain deadlines within a season that would provide a player an opportunity to play if he were to meet the deadline.

What makes you so sure that Tim would have even been interested had the job come open? Imo Tim is quite happy where he is.

 

 

Spoke to him personally about it a time or 2 and there was a time he would have taken the job. A chance to coach at his alma mater!! Are you kidding me?? Every coach would jump at the chance not to mention the continuous stream of athletes that come thru Holmes! With that said I know he's happy at Cooper never suggested he wasn't .

If there is a reciprocity agreement between the districts. It has to be approved by the BOE of the district of residence. If not it can denied and tuition could be determined by receiving district.

This is a game thread just trying to clear something up. I do know for a fact that Holmes in open enrollment as long as you do not live in Newport or Dayton. I know a kid that went there in the 7th grade although he was in Turkeyfoots Dustrict.

I don't really understand this statement... Why would it be open enrollment for anyone but Newport or Dayton?

Why? He will have just as good of an education while also getting a chance to excel on the hardwood with a bigger role on what will be a somewhat young team next year.

 

For those who don't know much about him, he has over a 4.0 gpa while also having a very strong work ethic both on and off the court.
