Josh Jaggers resigns from Larue County

Featured Replies

Only positions he is certified to teach, and there are zero open nor anticipated. He's gonna stay in that cushy job as long as he wants.

If the Superintendent has "his guy" as some have said on here, and "his guy" wants whatever this cushy job is, I guarantee he gets it. I have no knowledge of any of this situation, but there are many of people making absolute statements on here that just are not truth. You for one just a month or two ago swore that Jaggers wasn't going anywhere, like you had the "good-good" on inside information.

If he was offered the Henderson job with a pretty good 8-3 gig he should have gotten the heck out of Larue County on the first bus to take him. Was he offered the job? You are obviously friends with Josh, so I guess you would know. Do you have the same outrage for this situation? It is virtually the same scenario.

I'm not sure how Smith got pulled into this either...but make no mistake, if he were offered a 150,000 a year job a Troy he would have taken it. He was not offered a job at Troy or any other division 1 job since being fired at UK with Phillips staff.

He knew how I felt about the Henderson County job and the opportunity it presented itself. I didn't want him to pull his name out but I respected his decision to do so and why.

It'll be hard for me to have the same outrage over that situation when I have had numerous conversations with Josh about his situation at Larue County for multiple years.

Are you sure Neal Brown didn't talk to Chuck Smith about becoming his DC?

Billy Martin was the fallback option had Lewis turned that job down. Josh would not have gotten an offer.

Josh and Billy were it going into that final week. I know that Josh had his 2nd interview for a Friday afternoon if not mistaken. Lewis was called on that Friday evening, and took the job on Sunday.

Then again, Billy could have turned it down as well.

Now closed door politics have forced him out. He will bounce back for sure but he deserved better from a school he gave so much to. His loyalty shouldn't have been trampled on the way it was this morning.

Oil and water--Poltics and Loyalty. They dont mix

Where is he going? Still at LCHS right. Oh, and I never swear. They won't put another head coach in his cushy spot, it's not in the building. It's miles from the high school and the super hated him being there instead of in the building. Sure they could stick him anywhere, but with him being as far from the building as he can possibly be, he's now where they would want him. Several former coaches already teach out there. I have all the inside info from all but one guy, and I cannot fathom what he was thinking. I do know him very well, but even this is a bit irrational. With all his extended days and what he makes, he won't be a lunchroom monitor, that's for sure! Lol

My guess is the super would go after a retired coach, one where a job isn't necessary. Speculation of course, but a few local schools have done so and he maybe thinking along the same lines.

That makes sense. That is also good for Jaggers, that he doesn't have to be in the middle of the school after this mess. Do you know if he gets to keep his extended days or were they tied to the coaching position? That would be sweet for him to get to keep them!

They are part of his teaching position. The Life Connection is a group home and the teachers there go in over the breaks. Quite a few days, but I can't recall the exact number. Deep down though Josh is a coach, I can see him possibly applying at a few openings or joining a local staff. I hate this for him so close to Christmas...I know it has affected him.

Coach Smith was loyal to a program and school. The one he built. Boyle County. The one that rejuvenated your program and made Dale Mueller change his whole coaching style.

If leaving a school after two weeks of being on the job qualifies as disloyal then I guess we have two different definitions of loyal. I know for a FACT Josh Jaggers never left Larue County when he could have out of loyalty and I know for a FACT that an unscrupulous superintendent fired him for no reason and did so without any approval or discussion from anyone else in Larue County. Again, whenever you want to do the proper research on this situation feel free to respond like you know what's really going on instead of going on a personal vendetta against Boyle County fans such as myself and Chuck Smith.

Because I raised the issue of coaches these days not being as loyal to their programs as they used to be (and used Chuck Smith's recent actions as an example) you think that I have a personal vendetta against you, Boyle County fans and Chuck Smith? Seriously? No offense, but I think you are grasping.

Okay and like I said, to compare Chuck Smith's two week stint at Madison Central as an example is strange and a totally different situation than this. Then to try to tie things I may or may not have said about Chuck Smith leaving Madison Central and then taking the job at Boyle County to say how ironic it is that I am defending Josh Jaggers? Nahhh.....why would I think you are coming at me personally? How silly of me. I am grasping......once again you are right just like you always are. My fault, I bow at the feet of Leatherneck's amazing wisdom.

Let me explain something to you and let me be totally clear to you when I say this......

I like Josh Jaggers a whole lot more than any football coach in this state. He's been great to me and in return I'll always be good to him. I'll always ride hard for Josh Jaggers and I'll always be a fervent supporter of Josh Jaggers. I am loyal to Josh Jaggers and always will be. When you have my loyalty like he does you have it for life and you have it 100%. Loyalty is something I take very seriously and loyalty is a quality schools and coaches should have and when someone I am loyal to is screwed over because they were being loyal then you better believe that my loyalty is going to come into play when discussing it.

Well said! I know there are a lot of coaches that would love to have your loyalty from a supporter. Great job!

One thing is for certain, there are a few people "loyal" to this thread. Good grief.

I highly doubt it's going to be a retired coach, well-known or not.

My guess is next coach will definitely have LaRue ties, whether as former Hawk player/student or former LC assistant.

I'd be surprised if the next coach doesn't have LaRue County ties of some sort.
