Don't know these prospects, so it would be dumb to judge off of that. But I will miss Latos. I think he's going to be a stud for a long time!

Descantspellhisname will probably end up as an ok arm in the pen. Wallach isn't all that good and is in the low minors. For a 2/3 pitcher. I'll take it all day long.

I really liked Latos. Hope he can stay healthy. If he does he should have a great year.

I like his BB/K numbers for a young guy. He didn't have great numbers throwing out base stealers but that could be a product of working with young pitchers. He's listed as 6'3" 210 lbs so his build would suggest he could learn to play another position.

He hit .322 with a .431 OBP at 2 levels of A ball last year. He made the Sally League All-Star team. I'd think it would be a little bit early to say he's not very good.

Latos and his elbow seemed to be a big concern. I think the Reds had some deals in place or at least in the process that were derailed because of his health.

 

I was expecting a bigger return, but my guess is the Reds were getting the best they could for a guy who is trending toward TJ in the next year or two.
