IU fans are a fickle bunch. I at least respect UL as a program, but when it comes to IU, they are a laughing stock to me. IU fans tend to have little person syndrome, try to act bigger than they are.

IU fans are like their coach, arrogant and classless. His halftime interview was something else. The way he talked they had the game in the bag. I wish UL would have beaten them by 40.

I had the same impression about his interview. Maybe there was something in the gum he was chawing on so hard. Maybe the Harboughs are rubbing off on him.

Lived in Indiana for a decade and your right...they don't hate UofL. They think UofL is beneath them and not worth their time to even think about.

What resentment? UK won it all that year, its hard to have resentment over a regular season game while walking through the tournement. The fact that IU fans still talk about that game says a lot about the state of IU's program. Kentucky fans just laugh about it, not resent it.

Hopefully they keep living there. Or at least hire another Davis/Sampson/Crean. Personally I like Crean as their coach.

B/c of the fans? That's a joke for a "supposed" journalist. UK has 100 times more fans and i assure 100 times as many crazies as well. You have to know this.

It clearly didn't. I NEVER heard any hatred toward IU before that game. And since, there's this.

 

Read some older threads on this site about Crean, even as IU coach, not everyone, but the vast majority thought he was great! Then Watford hits that shot. Now no one's ever liked him and he's a creep. It's very obvious. Maybe it's subconscious, but if that game doesn't happen, the resentment isn't there.

 

No different than this supposed rivalry with Duke that doesn't really exist all due to one shot 25 years ago...

Indiana used to be a very big rivalry with Kentucky and many of the old-timers, my dad included, can't stand Indiana. I think a lot of that comes from Bob Knight smacking Joe B. Hall.

 

I'd imagine we'll hear a lot more about Indiana in the UK circles later this year if UK is still undefeated late in the season. Most UK fans will just want the 40-0 record, but there will be a lot that want to top Indiana's undefeated season, but I don't think it's because of that game.

 

I think any resentment towards Indiana is fueled more by moronic statements by Bobby Knight over the last few years, or the overall dislike for him, than that game. I can't speak about comments made about Crean, but I think making fun of a team for the pop corn box and Sweet 16 rings, isn't resentment.

Never hated IU (Of course I'm a Louisville fan so what reason would I have?); always have had a lot of IU fan friends that grew up in Southern Indiana and went to IU then moved to Louisville after school so I even pulled for them to an extent.

 

Hiring Tom Crean was definitely a way to get me off that wagon. :lol2:

Yep. Definitely don't like Crean. I have no problem with IU.
