I know exactly who you are talking about. And I would never up talk my son. All I am simply saying is he is good and I do believe he will start this coming year. He doesn't care what position it is. He is always on D line but has done the O line also. He has also went other ways. Not to put any child down what so ever but if the talent isn't with the up coming classes such as frosh, soph or jun as is what has been said why not take the best no matter what grade they are.

I didn't use any names or even mention team. I was simply giving a story about someone who ventured down this path as hopefully a heads up of what not to do. Was doing it as friendly advice of what not to do is all.

Ok so I am confused....Highlands#1 talks about incoming Frosh starting Varsity....is he confused in really meaning current Frosh who will be Soph next season like his son?

 

There are a couple of really talented Frosh who could challenge for starting positions next year at HHS but like Tdy I wont name them. They know who they are and I am sure they are going to work hard in the offseason to be in position to earn those spots.

 

As far as any frosh next year.....there are NONE at Highlands.

That's exactly what you are doing! Everyone thinks their little Johnny is the best thing since sliced bread. If your son has talent, he will get noticed; it just may not be in the time frame that you are looking for. You aren't doing him any favors by hashing this out on BGP though.

Holy cow! This info is so exciting! So you are saying we have the next Austin Collinsworth, Derek Smith, Jared Lorenzen, or Gino G in the making? Wait, the last two didn't start as soph. What I'm saying is it's extremely difficult to start at the Varsity level at Highlands as a soph. Proud dad or not, hopefully you keep this in perspective.

 

There is actually one kid that comes to mind that may have a shot at playing substantially, but I'm not naming him because I don't want him or his daddy think it's a done deal, not that I have any pull, zero pull that is, lol, but if you are his dad, then let me say I'm a little disappointed that you have gone this route on BGP. If you are him, you should know better!

I happened to see a fair enough amount of frosh games and really only two kids in that position group come to mind. Both with work and effort show plenty of promise. The problem is I doubt either of their Dad's would come and spout the child being the next coming. Good Luck.

In seeing what they have done this year my friend we have trouble. These games you can watch on you tube and also other sites as I have for the ones I have missed and we are in MAJOR trouble. Just about all the games I watched either in person or on the computer had me shaking my head. This is highlands future players need I remind you.
