That sounds like some of what I over heard the parents saying at dinner one night at a local pub. Said this would be the last win for sometime. Which had me asking the questions I did. If a frosh is better, stronger and bigger than a soph, jun, or sen would he have a chance to prove it. I know their are a lot of frosh little birds who are able and willing to step up to the plate and play hard. A lot of the Frosh boys are bigger than the up coming jun kid's

The only Frosh that would be able to play up on JV or Varsity in the next couple of years would be Brycen Huddleston. And that aint happening! Brycen IMO, should play up on the Frosh next year as a 8th grader but I'm not so sure he will. He is a very young 7th grader now and it's highly unlikely that he will make that jump. Could he? Absolutely he could! People are in for a treat in 2 years when he comes storming into the Program. The best the FTJFL has seen in quite some time....

All this talk about Highlands! They play SK this year. SK returns a bunch of good football players and the JV team was 10-0 2 years a row. SK will be lead by returning starter quarterback Cameron Racke (6'1 175) 1897 yards passing 21 tds and 524 yards 8 tds rushing he is backed up by Tanner Green (6'3 180). AT running back Dillon Powell (5'10 180) 1519 yards rushing 16 tds. They also return two other backs Dylan Hampton (5'10 165) and Elijah Jackson.(5'7 160) At receiver they return Logan Scot(6'0 165), Logan Kreidenweis (6'0 160), Luke Vance (5'10 150) and tightend Josh Morrison(6'3 207). The O-line returns one starter at guard David Sandlin (6'0 280). I would look for Colton Williams (6'5 245), Blake Clark (6'4 265), Lenny Connor (6'1 245), Zachary Stone (5'10 215) to be the other starters. SK also returns kicker Brandon Carmony.

 

On defense SK will be stacked again with some good football players. On the defensive line they return Tucker Mueller (6'1 260), Blake Powell (5'11 235) and Mitchell Kreidenweis (6'1 205) they also have back ups Jantzen Harris (5'10 200), Jay'veon Johnson (6'1 200) and Drew Pompilio (6'2 190) I think all three could play DE or LB. At linebacker they return a good group who either started a couple games or seen playing time Markie Rider (5'10 195), Brian Carter (6'1 190), Casey Cornett (5'10 195), Taylor Holtkamp 6'2 190 and Dalton Finnell (6'0 193). At DB SK returns

three starters Trent Kincaid (5'7 160) he lead NKY at interceptions, Taylor Galbraith (5'10 160) and Jacob Harney (5'9 160). SK will be a tough team to go against next year.

 

SK will have a very nice team for sure....No one to take lightly and Highlands won't overlook playing them!

Brady is a fine player but if Carl Schoellman continues to play Football his Junior year, he will be the Starting QB. Schoellman will be a Soph in 2015. Like Hoge, Schoellman's Football I.Q. is off the charts and that's something that the QB at Highlands has to have to play in Weinrich's system. Not saying that Brady doesn't have the I.Q. but that's something I know Schoellman already displays. He had it when he was a 7th grader and it's something you just can't teach. The arm strength will come with time. Just look at Beau Hoge as a Freshman. He couldn't even throw the Sticks pattern. 3 hardworking years later and Beau is throwing seeds 50-60 yards with ease. Like I said, competition is good and Highlands Football will be Highlands Football.....

I wouldnt overlook the Colonels, Dave Brossart has built a winner over there.

Are you kidding me with this nonsense? You think that an incoming frosh is going to play varsity football at Highlands? I will answer that for you with a big NO. As far as I can remember, there have only been 2 frosh that have lettered at Highlands. This is not the FTJFL we are talking about, this is varsity football.

 

On a side note, why don't you just quit beating around the bush and come out of the closet and tell us what you really want to hear. Next years senior class finished with the same record as this years senior class in frosh ball. They lost 1 game as soph's on the JV and many many saw significant action at the varsity level this year. I would foresee kids playing both ways before a frosh steps in to see significant minutes.

I seen their depth chart for the state finals and several Seniors where back ups. They need to replace most the D-line and O-line. They should be fine at running back with #29 and #28 returning.

I have seen Schoellman play a couple of times. He has a nice arm and had several nice receivers. I saw Hoge play freshman, and while he was a good quarterback, he was small and his arm wasn't the strongest.

Unless Schoellman gives one his sports up and works on his footwork and Arm strength he won't have a legitimate shot at QB his Sophmore year. And I don't see Schoellman giving up one of his sports. I.E. Beau Hoge....does anybody think that Beau would be as strong and good as he is if he didn't put in the extra time....Nope! Beau Hoge was the starting point guard on the Basketball team when he in Middle School and decided like many Athletes that think they have a Legitimate shot at playing at the next level at a High Level that sacrifices have to be made even if it does hurt in other sports. Sorry, Beau made the right decision...

 

Just not enough time in the day in today sports with overlapping practices and Summer out of season Sports(Games) to get to the level that Beau Hoge is right now. Quite honestly don't think many kids could get there but why not try. If you think you can do it playing the busy year round schedule that all 3 sports require, you are not being very realistic....IMO!!

Not necessary. If the coach see's potential in a frosh boy they could be played. Someone on here just said so. And why does that bother you so much? Very unlikely a Freshman plays Varsity unless numbers are way down.

Number may not be way down but people are saying talent and sizes are. So that would mean they will be looking at everyone then if they are up to playing and willing to put forth effort.
