All these posts about the committee playing some kind of games with the process are off base IMO. I think it is very simple. The committee looked every week at the resume of each team and picked who they thought the top 4 were. They weren't trying to send messages, or playing geography, or anything else. They ranked the teams in the order of how good they think they are - period. They picked the 4 teams they believe are the 4 best teams in the nation. That's it.

Listened to the TCU coach comment on what TCU/Big 12 could do going forward to make a better case for inclusion in the "Final Four".

 

To his credit, he took the high road and didn't slam the committee. He said that they had already upgraded their OOC schedule (with Minnesota). Also mentioned a conference playoff game.

 

What he didn't mention is what should be obvious. At least it is to this old-school observer.

The problem the committee has is releasing their rankings a month ahead of time. They should wait until after the season is over and release them period. If they would have waited to release their ranking until today then there wouldn't be as many questions.

 

I agree. It is just like when the NCAA says that previous rulings have no bearing on infraction rulings. It just screams favoritism.

I like Bama. Have since my UK days. Went there twice to see the Cats play football, and they (along with Ole Miss) were some of the most hospitable fans I've ever been around.

 

Fanbase effects my opinion of a lot of places. So as long as they're not playing the Cats I cheer for them. That and I like to see the SEC teams do well.

 

Unlike most people on here, I don't hate Ohio State. I'm not a fan, but I don't dislike them. They're fans that travel to the Illinois games are some of the best visiting fans I've been around. I have a bunch of friends that are OSU fans, and they're good folks.

Plain and simple I'm just sick of Alabama winning. I don't necessarily have a huge problem with them but like all elite football programs, the fans have a sense of entitlement that bugs me when I'm talking to them.

 

Going to college in Ohio, I found a distaste for the Buckeyes after the first time I was asked "Did we win today?" but someone referring to Ohio State and not Dayton.

 

I normally have never really cared one way or the other about Florida State, but I don't really want Jameis Winston to win anything ever again.

 

Oregon represents everything I dislike about modern college athletics. They're the best team gobs of Nike money can buy.

Who is hopping on the FSU bandwagon? Who is the one HYPING FSU in the media? All I hear most every week (except from Kanell, an FSU alum) is how sloppy they are.

Ohio State has the worst loss BY FAR.

 

I also think they have the best win BY FAR beating Wisconsin 59-0 in a 3rd string QB's first start.

All Jameis does is win. Just like he did in Louisville after they closed the Crab Shack down.
