ATLCat Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 The cream has risen in 3A... no question the 3 best teams are left playing and Russell has earned their spot as well! SW remains the team to beat...but Central will not go quietly into that night.
jcarter Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 mcelwain had a gray game tonight 3 TD's and the interception before half that ended up being a 14 point swing. PT had the ball deep at Souths 15 trailing 7 to 0 when Mc intercepted and returned it back across mid field to PT 30 which ended with the TD and south going into half with a 14 to 0 lead. South now enters uncharted territory I'm their first semi appearance at Louisville Central. It will be a task for them and look forward to a great game next week.

Despite the loss to bitter rival LexCath tonight there are a whole lot of people in Boyle County very proud of Brandon Smith and his South Warren team.

It's asking a lot to compete with his injury against that defense. I'm not sure PT would have won but with him healthy it is a different game. Congrats South. Go win 5a eerrrrr I mean 3a

Just don't act like it doesn't matter when you have more than 100 more boys to chose from in this sport. Fact is Sparta won. In my mind they were the better team. Not sour grapes. We don't act like that at PT. Never have. South had sour grapes after last years game. There are no PT posters on here taking anything away from South. Facts are facts. If this team wins 3a they will always have an asterisk by their name as far as I'm concerned. When a team is playing with a stacked deck it happens. Just don't act like its a non issue and insult people's intelligence. That's why we have classes. Period end of discussion.

You could have had 2 of those quarterbacks healthy and wouldn't have won that game. Your defense still gave up 36 pts. SW got screwed last year on s terrible safety call. Everyone in the state knows that. They had a sour taste because they had a chance to win at the end and didn't. Not because of anything PT did. They played hard and won the game. Simply put, PT got handled on both sides of the ball. Your just another hater crying the 5a crap. They are 3a per the KHSAA and will be 4a next year. Get off the enrollment crutch and stop blaming your loss on that.

They may not have an asterisk as far as the KHSAA goes but don't kid yourself if you think that championship isn't devalued... they (Mercer) also don't have any meaniful success since the year of their KHSAA gift either. That will be the path of SW as well. They've had 4A enrollment for years and next year when they finally go to 4A (high numbers at that) they'll have 5A enrollment... My hope is Belfry gets them this year, and if they do we (SW Haters) can sleep easy for eternity as they will never sniff any more success than their mother school (Greenwood) has...

Not using a crutch. Some people get soooo upset when people point out the obvious. Sorry if I hit a nerve. Especially since their is a whole other thread that is devoted to nothing but the disparity in the enrollment numbers. I will say it again South was the better team on that night. I have watched PT against way better competition this year. It is my OPINION that the game would have been more competitive with a healthy QB. I'm sure if you watch football you understand what I'm saying. If not im starting to understand what everyone is saying about South Warrens fan base and how classless they are. Congrats to South.
