Why are they making it two parts? I thought when I agreed to watch these with my wife that I only had to watch three.

 

Stated reason was that they couldn't get all the relevant content into 1 2 hour movie. I'm interested to see 2 things.

 

1. Where they end this one.

 

2. How they handle the character played by Phillip Seymour Hoffman. That character has a sizable role in the final book. Will they just bring in a new actor and not address it like the Harry Potter folks did with Richard Harris?

Watched twilight with the wife, boycotted the rest. I dig the Hunger Games though. I see very little comparison of the two for some reason.

 

Twilight is much more of a "romance" when all is said and done. Hunger Games (and yes, the last book was sub-par) and the "Divergent" series are more akin, IMHO.

I believe all the movies were filmed at the same time, just released at different times. At least, that's what I understood to be the case.

I believe I heard he still had one scene of Part II to shoot when he passed.

Wife is going with friends to see it late Thursday night, which means she'll want me to see it over the weekend. I'm good with that as the books and movies for this have been pretty good.

Eh at least Jennifer Lawrence is smoking hot. So that makes these movies a little easier to watch .

Love the books; love the movies. Same for Divergent. Twilight, I read all; still have not seen the last 1 or 2 movies. I'm not sure if I will.

The last book just didn't have a consistent tone and frankly she showed that she had no idea how to write a war, or someone's individual role in it.

Saw it last night. Movie ticked me off, in a good way. Makes me want to strap up and join the war.

 

One scene with Peeta was intense, but I won't say more so that I don't ruin it for others.

 

Really makes me want to just read the book to find out how it ends.

READ THE BOOK!!! You won't regret it.

 

Don't forget that it's YA (young adult); it's a quick read. You could probably read it in 1-2 days (although I always go slower to savor my favorite parts).

 

The movie is as close to the book as possible, with a few elaborations that are just inferred in the book.

 

The casting of the new characters was incredible: Julianne Moore, Natalie Dormer, Mahershala Ali, even down to the minor characters.
