Open Jobs/Filled Jobs 2014-2015

I don't know how people do it and be successful when you have to drive that far. You're investing a tremendous amount of time in the program that it's so much easier to be near by.

Ha, my first job the previous coach had signed us up to play at the #1 team in the state two years in a row for the money. That was painful.

Thread hijack over. Sorry.

Anytime.

I agree. 30 boys out of the total 120. Better ratio than most.

Yep, he sure was. That's exactly what I said.

I know their baseball team has always struggled with numbers, too. Last year they even had to cancel some games because they didn't have enough, but they have been able to get their new coach in the system and numbers for baseball have more than doubled.

It's always been an interesting place, and despite their frequent turnover and relative lack of success, every time it comes open you see people that are curious about it. Athletes are their for sure. It has potential, whatever one might determine as such..but, it's there.

It's not a quick fix place. I don't even think it's a year or two then bounce somewhere else type gig because of what it would take to get things going on any kind of continuous basis.

Only thing I can figure with them signing onto play both Somerset & Trigg in their bowl games is they must really need the $$$.

If I'm correct, the old coach is still in the building at Caverna. Not the one who just left, but the coach before him. I would probably just assume it's his job to turn down.

Can we get the list back up again with updates...I honestly have enjoyed whatching its transformation.

Those are six tough sells left open.

Powell County isn't a terrible sell but you are right on the rest.

I believe East Ridge rehired Brad Allen who was there up until this past year. I haven't been able to find an official announcement, but that's what I've heard directly from somebody at the school.

I'll stir the pot...my Top Ten Jobs that came OPEN in 2015

1. Owensboro...facilities, tradition, talent coming

2. Cov. Cath....facilities (in the day), tradition, there's gotta be a wave coming

3. McCracken...facilities, players (for now)

4. Glasgow...Players, tradition, winnable schedule

5. Mercer...Facilities, coaching, good area for football

6. Warren East...One of the two best sophomores in KY, and he's a RB

7. Warren Central...Talent (for now), tradition, facilities (being built), and DragonFire!

8. Waggener...Talent, easy road to semi's, some tradition

9. Marion Co....Talent, prone to having streaks of high level teams

10. M.N. Hopkins...Talent, Good pay, decent facilities

Feel free to argue your revised list!

Thanks Harry. I think we're at the same stage with reports on Clay Dalton to Jackson County. A lot of folks are reporting he's in...just no official word out of the school.

I'm not sure Waggener has an easy road to the region semi's with Boyle, LexCath, and Garrard being in their sister district. Much less the state semis. It would take a darn near miracle for that to happen. They also have Lou. Central and Bardstown in their district. I'm going to have to disagree with you big-time on that one. Bullitt Central is the job I would put on the list and above many that you had ahead of Waggener. They have good support and solid players in a very winnable district for them. I would definitely put them ahead of Warren East and Warren Central just because I don't think those two programs are going to have the depth of talent to win multiple playoff games in the coming years (on exception of Warren Central THIS season. After this season the Dragons may fall off in a dramatic way). Hard to argue with the rest of your list, though.

I was wrong on Wagener and I'll eat that one...scratch them from the list. Add BC in their place but I believe strongly that BC could not play with either east or Central. too much speed on both those teams...but that's what makes debate fun!

I do agree with you that I think Warren Central would beat Bullitt Central and East could play with them and possibly beat them, but I still think BC is the better job in the coming years due to being in a better district for their level of talent and support.

Remember, that Seneca beat Glasgow but neither one of us would likely say Seneca is a better job than Glasgow. They just have a depth and quality of athlete that Glasgow doesn't. Difference between an average 6A school and a top 2A school.

Warren East does not have tons of speed. BC could play with both those teams imo. Warren East lost most everything. The sophomore you mentioned earlier has transferred to another school. Their facilities are not very good. Warren Central on many years has a lot of speed.
