I was told that Scott Co. has had this happen to them 3 times already. Not fair to the kids who practice all week and then get cancelled on. Plus they are playing next year in varsity, it would be nice to see the JV game as a measuring stick to a degree. I was told Scott Co. beat Highlands last year on the last Saturday of the JV season as well. Not sure what happened but feel for the kids from both programs. My buddy said that Scott Co is undefeated and has ripped all the Lexington schools. I watch them play Lafayette and they are good won 56-12 I think, not sure it was over and I left at half time. Would have loved to see how the two powers played this Saturday but oh well guess we will have to wait until next year.

I also do not like cancelling the JV game. The Saturday game could be played at 3 or so, giving the JV plenty of time to get home from BG, sleep several hours and still make the game. If players are needed on Friday night to fill in for injured players go ahead and bring some freshmen up to fill in for the JV game. They get so few games as it is.

UK#1, I rarely agree with you but as an HHS fan I am with you here. To my fellow HHS fans who are closer to the program than me, has HHS canceled the JV game and if so, why? HHS cannot use the timing of the game as an excuse - the varsity game was scheduled a long time ago. Not buying the injuries either. HHS is not a school that dresses 30 kids. They dress 100 kids (give or take) so they have enough bodies to easily field both varsity and JV teams. The JV kids (for both teams) practice just as much as the varsity kids and deserve to play games.

 

I just think it is weak when schools cancel games that they agreed to play initially. Unless there is some very compelling reason (contagious sickness in school, death of a player or coach, stuff like that), you should have to play the game IMO. I ripped CCH for canceling against HHS last year. To be consistent, I have to be harsh on HHS for canceling against Scott Co.

Not a good say to end the JV season with the shellacking they took last weekend at the Pitt where I understand some players didnt make the trip.

Are we sure that the game has really been cancelled? I was told yesterday that game is on Saturday and was pushed back to noon to allow the kids to get some rest from the long bus trip that will take place on Saturday.

 

I am with Sweep on this stuff. Either get on the bus or get off the bus. Talk positive about the team on here and then go elsewhere and talk bad about same team.

That would be great news if the game were still on and if people are just spreading rumors that HHS backed out, shame on them. And I don't have to be on a bus or off a bus to be an HHS fan. I love the team and root for them every week. However, they are not perfect in every way like some make them out to be (no other team is either). I am far more positive than negative about them too. I am looking forward to them beating a decent WC team Friday, getting it done in the playoffs, and bringing back the trophy where it belongs after a brief, one year hiatus.

I was told last night that Scott Co is going to play St. X because Highlands cancelled the game for this Saturday. I ask why they cancelled and he said that Highlands had too many injuries and had a long trip on Friday night. So it sounds like Scott Co has moved on to another opponent because Highlands could not play.

Frosh and or JV games are against the rules after the Varsity finishes regular season play.

Yes he is on both accounts. Very friendly and seems to be very genuine.
