If that's the case I don't think Mercer will find a Genie in the bottle this year.

I don't think Mercer found a "Genie in the Bottle" last year. I know it is hard to admit but last year was not a fluke. If Boyle lost its starting QB, key RB's and WR's plus several starters on defense how would their season be going right now? Saying all of that Boyle should beat Mercer this year

Mercer fans will never learn. Boyle big 48-14.

One thing for sure both coaching staffs now each other very well. I believe Mercer has to have this win over Boyle or their season is over, Boyle is looking for revenge on what happened last year. I look for it to be close with Boyle pulling away late in the game. Boyle 35-14

Boyle. But anything over 30 pts is a stretch. 28 - 21.

Remember that last Friday Boyle had Marion down 38 with a running clock at their place to begin the 4th quarter and played mainly JV's to finish the game. That is the same Marion Co. team that beat Mercer two weeks ago.

Or you could say that Mercer beat Taylor 21 - 0, and Taylor beat Marion 30 - 8, who also played Catholic down to the last drive.

Throw all that out the door at this point. Mercer gets a few kids back from injury but Boyle should still win.

Boyle gets some kids back as well. Mercer is not the only team that had kids out. That is football, you play with who you have available.

I agree, I'm not saying Mercer will win. I picked Boyle.

On paper it should be a blowout but games aren't played on paper.

Mercer should be getting a player or two back this week. If Dustin Baker is one of those players then things could get interesting. Drew Davis is back and fills the void of a leader that Mercer has been lacking all season long. Also keep in mind that Mercer needs this victory to advance to the playoffs. There are still plenty of people in Mercer who believe that at full strength they are just as good as Boyle. Recent history says that when these two teams get together you can throw everything out of the window once the game starts with the kickoff. Boyle still doesn't have anyone who can stop Layne Peavler or Dustin Baker. I'm not sure they can stop Joey DeGiovanni. Boyle definitely doesn't have anyone who can catch them. Boyle players better not roll into this game as cocky as their fans or they may leave disappointed after the game just like last year.

Sounds like to me that Mercer should be the favorite in the game if these guys are unstoppable according to Starks. If Boyle has no one that can catch them I guess it would be smart to keep them in front of you. I think that is how you play good defense rather than trying to catch someone from behind.

Found one.. Lex Cath played Bowling Green, Lafayette, Bryan Station, Boyle Co. All are in the state top 10. Sorry dude

I think you loose "beechbumm"!! remember bowling green an boyle are also on mercers schedule. bryan station and central hardin may be a toss up! but Anderson county beats Lafayette any day. plus mercer has lex cath on there schedule'

lex cath combined opponents record is 36-29

mercer combined opponents record is 39-24

you pulled a rabbit out of your hat with trinity and all of the out of state schools. I should have qualified my statement better. but I will have to admit that schedule is tougher.

There is no way that Anderson County could beat Lafayette . Franklin County just ran over Anderson. Lafayette would destroy Anderson County

By "recent history" I assume you are only referring to last year. In the previous years the closest game was a 28 point Rebel victory. :idunno:

I'd love to see Mercer pull the upset, but I think Boyle wins this one going away with a running clock.

So using your theory east jessamine destroyed Franklin County. So they should beat Anderson?
