I never said it was a trend. I think you are looking into the words "recent history" too much so I'll be more clear for you.

 

Last year your kicker missed an extra point that would have tied the game and Boyle lost and their season was over. Because that happened last year when Boyle was supposed to blow Mercer out that tells me that when these two teams get together you can throw out what the matchup on paper says should happen.

Yes. I picked Mercer to win tonight in the poll. I'd feel better about it if the team was fully healthy. Injuries have turned a promising season into a long season. With some more guys returning to the field tonight I feel good about our chances. Add in the truth that Boyle is overrated and who knows what may happen tonight.

Its a shame Boyle's enrollment has dropped and this game will go away. Even though Boyle has had more success in this series I think it is a game that the community and more important the players enjoy. Maybe the coaches and administration can put their personal preferences aside and give the community and players what they want which is an annual game between these schools.

I agree with Hog Town. It is a shame that many of the natural rivalries throughout the state have been lost because in part to this watered down 6 class system. Boyle will pick up Garrard next year which will help, but I think the majority of Mercer and Boyle fans would love to se this rivalry continued.
