Really good ice cream joint in Bellevue called Schneider's. Its been there for several decades on the corner of Foote and Fairfield. And excellent hand dipped Choc. Choc. Chip in a waffle cone. Some people like the ice cream inside of their ice calls but I never caught on to it. Really good hand dipped ice cream.

Perhaps I've been living under a rock, but I've recently just had the Ice Ball/Ice Cream thing brought to my attention.

 

Haven't had it yet, but sorta curious.

Good Soft Serve Chocolate is hard to beat IMO. Trouble is finding good flavored soft serve, most is kinda tasteless.

 

Hand dipped overall is better, but not as good as the best soft serve...IMO.

 

You nailed it with this. The darker the better, the Ameristop by my house its "hit an miss", I always ask to see if the chocolate is dark....if not I'm not buying.

 

Chick fil-A soft serve is the Bomb, when it's really cold you can taste the ice crystals. Although they never teach these folks how to dispense a proper cone. Just about every place the server gives it the old "roundabout" style. :facepalm: There is nothing in the middle and one or two licks and the ice cream is ready to tip off the cone. :banghead:

 

Keep the cone close to the dispenser, and as it fills slowly lower the cone where you get the "christmas tree" effect.....it's really that simple. :thumb:

With that said...ice cream of course. Soft serve is ok, hand dipped ice cream is preferred.

 

Do enjoy a good frozen custard sometimes too.

Soft serve is good but hand dipped is great!

Soft serve vanilla, chocolate dipped. Boom!

 

This only with chocolate/vanilla swirl!

I refuse to vote with no "Either one is just dandy with me" option.

So...now I think I'm going to go upstairs to our ice cream shop and choose a hand dipped chocolate milkshake for my drive home.

 

If anyone's interested, French Lick Resort (both hotels) offer BOTH Hand Dipped and soft serve...and a beautiful front porch at either hotel to rock away the afternoon while enjoying the ice cream of your choice.
