I have long been a supporter of NO TIES in NFL games but after this game it does not bother me as much because neither team deserved to win this game.

Bengals stunk, Panthers stunk, the coaching on both teams stunk, the refs stunk, the fans stunk, the announcers stunk. But best thing about the NFL is next game comes 7 days from now and it can be completely different.

What about the kicker from Raceland we tried a few years ago?

Is there any way that Johnson Central's kicker can get a tryout this week? (I'm just kidding JC folks but that kid does have a better leg than Nugent) :thumb:

Aaron Pettrey?

My 2 cents....

- Burfict hurt the Bengala today with the illegal use of hands on 4th down during regulation.

- Dalton's first pick looked Awful almost like he decides NOT to want to Throw it while his ARM was moving. His 2nd was stupid but aggressive.

- our Defensive Line is nowhere Near as good as they were last yr.

- Bernard is a Great asset to this Team. Gotta Keep him healthy.

- Ronde Barber should be unemployed tomorrow just like Nugent.

Dalton's elbow was hit right before he released the ball on the 1st INT...

You score 34 points you should win the game.

Run defense is the issue for the Bengals. I thought getting Burfict back would help but they are getting beat at the point of attack. The DL has to step up and stop the run game.

Dalton takes a lot of heat but his one pick was as he was getting hit. He would be helped immensely if the Bengals could establish any sort of consistent run game. If he becomes one dimensional, it will not be pretty. He was out there today with roughly without his #1 and #2 receiver to start. Overall, a pretty solid game for him. He led them on a drive and put it on a platter to win, but Nugent blew it.

Lewis didnt miss a field goal a good high school kicker would make 9 out of 10 times.

No, but he keeps him on the team. Didn't Nuge miss 3 in a game already this season?

At least we didn't lose to the Browns by 3 TDs. :D

I agree with this too. Very much a lateral and should have been a first down

Should have been a lateral. Would not have been a 1st down. 3 CAR defenders all pulled up when the whistle sounded. Very unlikely he beats all 3 of them with only 1 blocker.

As bad as the officiating was, you have to adapt. 13 penalties for 119 yards is RIDICULOUS - and that is just the accepted yardage. They had some declined and others where there were multiple fouls on the same play. That falls back on Marvin & coaching. Players need to know the value of yards they are giving up and critical times they are doing it. Coaches emphasize both technique and importance of penalties. Obviously, neither is a priority for this coaching staff.

Burfict - roughing the passer gave them 1st down (along with a hold on Newman that would have been accepted if not for the other penalty) on 1st drive for TD

Burfict - 2nd drive 15 yds for unnecessary roughness (weak call but he knows they are watching him)

Dunlap - made FG turns into shorter made FG after penalty; could have resulted in 7 points; forced DEF to play more snaps

Bengals 2nd drive -- 34 yd pass nullified by illegal shift

CAR 1st drive of 2nd half - 29 yd. PI penalty on Newman accepted; 15 yd. roughing the passer on Gilberry declined

Bengals 4th Qtr - Hill 22 yd. TD nullified by Smith holding; settled for FG; Smith followed up with a 5 yd. false start to take it from 2nd & 18 to 2nd & 23

OT - Burfict illegal contact on 3rd & 10 when they gained only 9 yds. Automatic 1st down.

It was a very disappointing finish, but I'm not too discouraged from this game. The offense looked pretty good against a solid D, without AJ Green. I think we're going to see a lot more Jeremy Hill as the season progresses.

Defensively, the Bengals obviously struggled...but Cam Newton is a unique player & looked great.

Going forward, here are my concerns:

1. AJ Green's foot/toe. It was already reported that he's out for the Indy game, too. Hopefully this isn't going to linger too long.

2. Vontaze Burfict: Burfict played yesterday, but he wasn't himself. I'm very concerned about his overall well-being. He's reckless, and I think it has already caught up to him. If he's not on the field, this D loses a lot.

3. Defensive Line: Dunlap has been fairly quiet, and the interior D-linemen are struggling. Geno Atkins hasn't done much since returning from his knee injury last year, and Peko just looks old & slow. When the D-line isn't getting to the QB, it puts a lot more pressure on the LB's to play well...and Cincy's LB corp isn't that great, either.

Overall, I took a lot of positives out of yesterday's game. Like I said, the finish was disappointing but there is a lot to build off of moving forward.
