So how much cred does Woolford and crew get now?

A lot. Hats off too them. Though on some possessions they were a bit predictable.

Congrats to the Tigers & their faithful. Sounds like it was well earned and deserved.

As big a victory as this was, X needs to dedicate themselves to improving beyond where they are at now!!!! Big games against Male and Manual are on the schedule for the district championship. If you see Trinity again, they will be a different team and they will give you all you want and maybe a little more..... Keep your mind on the task at hand, keep working hard and improving. The next few weeks are big, however the post season is where all the marbles are collected....... Go Tigers!!!!

X deserved this one. They outplayed the Rocks, wanted it more, and they had a fire in them tonight.

As a fan of Simon Kenton..... who's name is pretty much mud on here because of one member, I like hearing that. I know X and T hate each other almost as much as they respect each other but it's nice reading something like what you posted about St. X just having a fire for the game. Classy my friend and good luck to both teams the rest of the season.

^ It's great to win a rivalry game, however, it really means nothing other than braging rights!!! The real sparks are the playoffs!!!! How you finish the season is what really counts.... Any victory in October can be easily eliminated in November!!!! One must be prepared to fight the battle at hand. These battles will not be easy!!!! Go Tigers!!!!!

Trinity should have played a better non-conference schedule. At least that's what they say in the college football forum.

Or half of the 6A forums.

Great job Tigers! Celebrate today and back to business Monday.

Tigers are finished celebrating -- did that last night. They are back to business right now.

You can argue that T played poorly, but I think that was a direct result of what X brought to the table last night. Noah Houk - deservedly - had his day.

Yeah, I think he had the game AvidTiger has been looking for.

Best pre game prediction -

Riverside157 - said game would be decided in first quarter - great call!!

Honorable mention for best prediction -

Many of you said these teams are not evenly matched. I said they were. I was wrong you were right. Good call

Best in your face prediction from my friends -

All of the Trinity fans I know ( that attend most Trinity games ) correctly predicted a St X win. They were worried about the St X defense and concerned about the Trinity offense. Impressed with their knowledge.

I thought the teams were evenly matched going into the game and that turnovers would be key factor. With Trinity losing the turnover margin 3 to 1 this was a big factor. Obviously St Xavier's schedule of Simon Kenton, Bryan Station, Bowling Green, Moeller and Central has prepared them well for district play.

I could not believe how one sided the coaching was in this game. Woolford and his staff completely dominated Beatty and his staff. Talking about being taken out to the woodshed. After taking the splinters out of his backside from the paddling Woolford administered to him, Beatty will get back to work and get Trinity moving in the right direction.

Looking ahead, both teams still should have their best games in front of them. Though last nights game says otherwise, I still believe that these two teams are pretty evenly matched and if that turnover margin swings to Trinity in their playoff game rematch then the result will be much closer. Both teams need to stay healthy, especially at the quarterback position where both have dramatic production drop-offs from their starter to their backup(s).

Hopefully both teams go undefeated the rest of the season and have a great future playoff rematch. With of course great weather.

I think when one side starts to dominate it makes it less interesting for the casual fans that would show up to boost numbers.

Did the UofL game effect the turnout?

Can someone elaborate to me on how big a difference there is in the talent at T than there is at X? I heard that a lot this week. I guess X is just that much better coached which led to their ability to overcome such a talent deficit.

X had a better game plan last night, and their players were very hungry.....our TO's hurt us, AGAIN, and gave X a short field, they capitalized, and had momentum.....if we both make it far enough, I feel we will turn the tide again, as I feel we had the better talent on the field.

Did the UofL game effect the turnout?
