September 30, 201412 yr No air soft or BB gun sounds like a real gun... So if the report came in because of shots fired and not something that was seen, there is another issue.
September 30, 201412 yr Is it possible that someone shot real guns and these guys got caught at the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong equipment. Everyone seems to be saying that the air soft guns shouldn't have been heard. Lexington is stupid nowadays and four people were shot over the weekend(all non fatal but still). Gunshots heard in Lexington isn't rare like it used to be. Or maybe it is another case of witnesses thinking, hearing and seeing different things. Saw guys with BB guns=heard gunshots. One kid shot an airsoft gun that he had just gotten that day. The other 3 had BB guns. They all deserve punishment. I don't think there is much of a chance there was some other shooter of a real gun.
September 30, 201412 yr Really fellas??!! This isn't high school anymore! Time to put your big boy pants on and grow up!! Drew, I thought you had better common sense than that.
September 30, 201412 yr I'm willing to wait and see if the suspensions are lengthened before I criticize him. This! Stupid? Yes! But, doing something stupid such as theft, cheating on a test, breaking curfew, is one thing, but a firearm is a whole other ball game, and throwing in a campus wide lock down is far worse. What if it wasn't an athlete? What if it was a teacher? What is UK's policy for guns on campus? As in Kentucky each college decides if they can be on campus.

I'm thinking that if school policy had been violated then they would have gotten a whole lot more than just one game.
September 30, 201412 yr There's no doubt in my mind if this happens with 4 "regular" students they're shown the door in a blink of an eye.
September 30, 201412 yr BB guns don't sound like real guns though do they? I was thinking they don't but I admittedly don't know. The BB guns were not why the initial report was fired.
September 30, 201412 yr What was? If it was because someone heard something it was because of the air soft pistol.
September 30, 201412 yr The BB guns were not why the initial report was fired. So how does shots fired formulate from the "initial report". For the record I find it hard to believe someone heard shots fired from a BB gun. Someone in my back yard could fire off a BB gun and it would go unheard. Again just trying to see this situation.
September 30, 201412 yr There's no doubt in my mind if this happens with 4 "regular" students they're shown the door in a blink of an eye. I disagree. Having been a regular student on UK's campus who has gotten into trouble at the school I think people would be surprised at what it takes to get kicked out of school.

Having been a regular student on UK's campus who has gotten into trouble at the school I think people would be surprised at what it takes to get kicked out of school. I agree. I knew someone at Morehead who stole her roommates credit card and booked a trip to Spain and even admitted to stealing her stuff and not caring. She was allowed to stay in school.

Avoid area and all students should remain in their dorms while K9 units work the area.

Totally agree (twice dear Lord) in this day and age when we had several, several school shooting last year. Anytime you cause a lockdown you should be gone. Student athletes def are held to a different standard and it's not just at UK.
