Stoops suspends 4 players for South Carolina game

Featured Replies

I doubt it. Technically, no player is redshirted until after the season. They all dress and are able to go in if needed.

Okay. Thanks for the info.

When you put the school on lockdown and cause that much panic, you cannot let people go with 1 game. Stoops is an outstanding defensive mind and a great recruiter, but his discipline is going to tarnish his image soon. I'd like to hear from UK parents who heard the school was on lockdown.

I'm willing to wait and see if the suspensions are lengthened before I criticize him.

"Do whatever you have to do to keep your scholarship." That's what we always tell her. So while my girl is studying Organic Chem, trying to keep her academic scholarship.....she's on lockdown because some other students are not too concerned about their scholarship.

I'm not mad. I don't really care how the University powers handle this. Just sharing my thoughts.....

Maybe the Bleacher Report is correct and Boom got 4 games.

4 games seems right.

I'm with Clyde, first time offense doesn't warrant expulsion.

The only thing that irks me would be the fear they instilled in the students and their families.

I'm not familiar with an Air Soft gun. Does it sound anywhere close to a real gun when it's shot?

I have a legitimate question. How does firing a BB gun turn into a report to the police that shots have been fired. All the air soft, BB, and pellet guns I have owned in my day have more or less been silent. Were they seen wielding the BB guns or were the guns an upgraded model? Just trying to picture how this went down.

Stole my thunder.

The initial report I saw from UK on Twitter was "shots fired."

I got multiple phone calls, emails, and text messages from UK last evening regarding a lockdown on campus because of a gunman. I have a senior daughter at UK. I'm curious what the University of Kentucky will do to four students that have been identified as the ones responsible? Might go to student conduct handbook and check that out. I'm betting it more serious than what four athletes are getting for doing the same!

Btw, Clyde, I know you have your opinion and I have mine, and mine says no way I respond in this thread if I'm you because of your close ties to the family. No way! Just my opinion!

Is it possible that someone shot real guns and these guys got caught at the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong equipment. Everyone seems to be saying that the air soft guns shouldn't have been heard. Lexington is stupid nowadays and four people were shot over the weekend(all non fatal but still). Gunshots heard in Lexington isn't rare like it used to be.

Or maybe it is another case of witnesses thinking, hearing and seeing different things. Saw guys with BB guns=heard gunshots.

I saw 6 people in the picture. Why are we only discussing 4 of them? What happened to the other 2?

Thought about avoiding it. Figured my absence would send the wrong message after being asked directly.

I can't imagine my opinion is that far off base but that's for others to decide.
