My take is simple: Stupid decision by Drew (which I told him). He is embarrassed. He will pay the price and will have to work hard to restore his reputation. His dad fully supports Stoops' decision.

 

I am not kicking a kid out of school over a BB gun.

I saw where someone tweeted that it was "dumb but not illegal". Is that correct? If so I think expulsion would be over the top and a suspension would be more appropriate.

They won't be kicked out of school, and I don't think they should. But one game might be a little soft. Having the entire campus locked down is a big deal...

I'm not the one that's taking up for someone involved in an incident that locked down a college campus.

 

It was more than a dumb decision that involved a BB gun. Smart kids don't put themselves in that kind of situation. Obviously Drew isn't the guy that many thought he was. He may act remorseful now but it's only because they were caught on camera.

Agreed. It is a big deal to cause a campus to go to lockdown. UK reacted appropriately and as every parent would want.
