I don't disagree. Incredibly stupid idea on all fronts. Even more stupid to be walking around in shirts that give away your identity fairly easily while carrying and shooting a gun. I'm just in the camp that a large majority of the kids in college, athletes or not are still pretty stupid. I'm not excusing their behavior at all but for me, kids are stupid and do stupid stuff in college. Sometimes it costs them their life, or their college career academically or athletically. It's just the way it is. There is a kid doing something incredibly stupid on a college campus right now. I just hope it isn't Jameis Winston again. :lol2:

Wow, I agree you with a first and a last. A guy was killed in Dayton, OH Walmart recently for being an idiot with a toy rifle. UK was just on LOCKDOWN recently. 1 game is a joke!

Yes Boom Williams is a huge loss. Very stupid decision heading into the biggest game of the season.

Yep. This was the incident that caused the lockdown. I have to think they then realized the error of their ways then. I'm also surprised it is a one game suspension given the seriousness of a campus wide lockdown over stupidity.

I am not as familiar with the three other than Drew Barker (aside from seeing Boom play) but I have to say I am very disappointed his actions here. Future QB and team leader just should be more aware than this. I have a feeling these kids will become very familiar with the Commonwealth Stadium stairs over the next week.

There are many who think it's a great idea to let everybody on college campuses carry guns around. I don't understand it, but that's a topic for a different forum.

Seems to me coach doesn't have control of his players. Players being out that late, classes in the morning. Maybe the coach should be disciplined as well.

This is starting to get ugly on social media. People are calling for expulsion. I think it was 99% poor decision on the players part but I totally understand some of the parents comments about how scared they were when they were called by their kids on campus last night saying they were in lock down because of shots fired.

 

This could get uglier before all is said and done.

 

 

I think it was just poor judgement that got out of hand. Fleeing the area and stashing the BB guns made it worse. The only thing that confuses me is it made it sound like someone heard shots fired, but a bb gun doesn't make that type of sound.

Honestly, expulsion seems pretty fitting IMO. I'd gain a ton of respect for Stoops and Mitch if they had the stones to do it.
