October 1, 201411 yr Profiling? Did you say that with a straight face? That is all I had to read to realize you had no clue about this incident. Yep... walk around with something that looks like a gun and someone calls you in, then you'll probably be profiled and lumped in with someone who might actually be carrying a gun. Saw that one when I was a rookie. :idunno:

There could have been potentially hundreds, if not thousands, of potential shooters that went somewhere with bad intentions then saw the no weapons signs and realized that they weren't allowed to have their guns there and went home, right? I mean, they've got to be at least as effective as restraining orders, right? Those always work. Probably right. Someone dead set on murdering people realizes they aren't allowed to carry a gun in a school free zone and thinks..."shoot...I guess I better go back home".

October 1, 201411 yr There is no way that a BB gun or air soft gun could be mistaken for a real gun. That just isn't happening. I have a BB gun and it sounds like a metallic thud when it shoots. I have a 10 year old neighbor who has an air soft gun and it is slightly different but not loud at all. There has to be more to the story or there is someone who completely overreacted when they reported this. This guy probably wouldnt agree with you if he were alive.

Again, I feel the players were certainly in the wrong and I'm completely on board with the one-game suspensions. If more details come out that make things a little worse than what we know at this point, I'd be on board with additional punishment.

According to @HLpublicsafety, the guys had four pellet guns and were playing a game they called “man hunt.” They are due back in court on October 28 at 11:00 pm.

The characters from that show didn't use any weapons and the end result had nothing to do with shooting anyone... It was a hilarious episode though.
October 2, 201411 yr They are due back in court on October 28 at 11:00 pm. That'll teach 'em! Although they could be busy at that hour playing the "hunger games" on the quad. In all seriousness, I am hoping this "man hunt" game involved them only shooting at each other.
October 2, 201411 yr These young men have to be better aware of the choices that they are making, however, when I was their age or a bit younger, I wasn't uncommon to hear of guys playing war with BB guns or even bottle rockets. I never personally partook in such games, but I had many friends who did.
