As far as HB20 goes, most know that he does know a good deal in these areas. And many know that I deal with a type of career that I know some as well.

 

Last week near UC there was a window shot out late at night by an employee of a place who just for fired a couple days before. It was about two blocks away, and it's a canyon effect in that area. It was very muffled, myself and a UC officer were talking at the time and we both said that it couldn't have been a gunshot (you hear them enough near UC) as it wasn't loud enough. But we both were like "what was that?" Less than two mins later he gets a call saying there were shots fired. It was loud enough but not as loud as a handgun. She fired it from her car then took off, a little later they were able to figure out who it was and arrested her. want to guess what type of gun it was?

 

My point is, the sound may not be as loud as a handgun, but it's loud enough where it confused at least one UC officer.

As HB20 also clearly stated, and I touched on it too, the police do not deicide who gets charged! It goes to the county attorney's officer and they decide.

First off, they THOUGHT they hear something and reported it, one of our members said last night his son also said he hear a gunshot! These callers did not FILE any charges! They made a phone call,

 

You claim profiling because 6 people, big people in this case, are walking around on campus with a weapon that is NOT ALLOWED on campus, it doesn't matter if it's a rifle, pistol, BB gun or airsoft, they are banned from campus. You would think that everyone would have sense enough to not being any type of weapon on a HS or college campus these days. It does not matter what the intent was, they are banned! And as many have stated, these guys are very lucky the police didn't see them as there very well may have been some very serious injuries to these guys, and possibly innocent bystanders.

 

If you think an air soft gun is just a toy, go on, take your walmart air soft toy to your local HS tomorrow and carry it like these guys were, and just see what happens.

I misspoke there.. As you should know since you were telling me that the police didn't charge them. We had several comments afterwards that I said whether it were the police county or feds, that charged them, it doesn't really matter as far as a lawsuit would go.

 

Again, I don't believe there would be cause for a lawsuit, I have said that numerous times now that I don't believe there would be one.. But for some reason it keeps coming back into the conversation.

I don't belive they were, read my previous post and you will see explanation to that question.

 

Multiple people say "it" sounded like a gun. What is "it?" Could there have been actual gunshots in the area, or is there multiple callers that believe an airsoft gun sounds like a real gun, from who knows what distance?

 

I'm basing my beliefs off from an earlier post that someone said UK has a ban on deadly weapons.

You can be as honest as you want, my feelings arent hurt easily. But 6 big guys with what looks like a gun could fall into the category of profiling, if people that are not those six big guys, incited panic, which reporded gunshots being fired in several locations, due to the fear of 6 big dudes carrying something that resembled a gun, which it turned out it wasn't and no one was arrested at that time.

 

Some would question why the people who said a gun was shot were not charged with filing false charges, as an airsoft gun sounds nothing like a real one. I say give them a break, they may not know what a real gun sounds like. But yet no one is willing to give these kids a break for making a bad decision of playing with a toy anyone can by at Walmart.

Read the previous posts.. It wasn't I that originally mentioned it. Another poster mentioned that the call of shots fired came in, I believe from three different locations, there were 6 big men seen with what looked to be a gun, so they were focused on and appear to be charged.

 

My problem is that UK has a large campus, however the sound of gunshots can go for a much larger distance than a college campus reaches. Also an airsoft does not sound like a gunshot when fired at all, much less from any distance.

 

Common sense should tell most people that either we don't know the whole story, or that the entire situation was mininterpreted.

By the way, a description from an eye witness can hold a lot of weight in court. A photo of people with a plastic gun would not hold much weight in court if indeed gunshots were reported.
