Yup. FINALLY they play a 6a team, albeit a bad 6A team. This team not nearly as good as last year, and wait until they lose their stud LBs and those two tackles on the OLine. This year will be a disappointment, but next year will be back to the norm for SK football, the've actually scheduled a little bit. No more 2a schools to feed the egos.

Ryle was playing to get to OT. They were inside the their own 30.

 

That's what I figured. I thought I read in the update thread that Ryle had called a couple timeouts on the drive, which didn't make sense. I likely misread.

Went back and re-read the updates page. NKUCB19 posts that Ryle called timeout with 1:01 left prior to their third down play. Then, they call another timeout prior to punting on fourth down. This after running up the middle on first and second down.

 

What the heck?

 

If you are playing for OT, or just running the ball, why call timeouts?

I wouldn't let one off game determine how good they are. They're 16-17 yearly kids who are not going to play at a high level every week, few teams do and those are the special programs. SK may very well be the best of a pretty decent district. The good news is we will know over the next few weeks.

I'd bet they got worked out for sure.

Only thing I'm going to say is that it was obviously a myth that it is only one fan base that feels this way about the pioneers. I don't see ANY negative replies from any HHS people. So this is coming from others.

I think they called timeouts when they let the play clock get close to 0. (Ran time off the clock, took timeout so no delay of game penalty.)

Please don't start! I know who they are. But you said one program's issue. Sure sounds like it's way more than just HHS. I've seen Cov Cath guys, T guys, and your district guys (Ryle, Dixie, CC and Boone) in the recent past talking about the same thing. And many more that don't put it on here. You just refuse to notice it.

Lastly, I didn't realize Cov Cath's schedule was brutal??? Besides Moeller, who was brutal??? Oh, you mean the Henderson Co team that was smashed by PT...You know the PT that is the weak team on HHS' schedule??? Man, you guys are sooo easy. By the way, if you use SK justification, HHS must be better than Moeller! They beat Cov Cath worse than Moe did!

 

Oh yea, Ryle's tough pre-district schedule almost paid off, didn't it? hmmmm? Seems like they have been used as the "example" of why it doesn't work. Almost had a crow dinner for a lot of people!
