Just reading the updates thread made the time out calls a little head-scratching. This clears it up.

 

Everyone is talking about junk, I want to talk football. That strategy seems strange me, couldn't you have a coach watching the hand signal, and checking the clock and have kids line up and snap with "2-3" seconds on the play clock?? I know hindsight is 20-20 but I am not sure I would have done it that way...

I agree. As much as SK's detractors want to spin these results of reflecting poorly on SK, the real take away is that this result signals Ryle's emergence from mediocrity. I believe this will be reflected in their results the rest of the season.

 

I also have been looking at hudl tape and I believe Ryle beats Campbell and will be competitive with Dixie.

 

No disrespect to Ryle here because I kinda agree with you on the "emergence" comment. I think they will start to turn things around this year.

Whenever we talk about scheduling tough, they ALWAYS bring up Ryle as an example and say "what has it done for Ryle", as if to say they schedule tough and still stink. I think that they struggled with the run at times. It seemed that Ryle called all the right run blitz packages at the right time.

Everybody is basing opinions off of Ryle last year and their game with Cooper this year. Yes they are still somewhat challenged offensively, but their offense is showing more diversity. They played width a lot of passion and intensity that has not been seen from them in two years. I hope Campbell and Dixie continue to underestimate them.

I don't see anyone from Campbell or Dixie underestimating Ryle. I would imagine this game opened both team's eyes and made them aware not to overlook Ryle.

This was a good wake up call for Simon Kenton. What works against teams that the Pioneers just flat out overmatch they found out what works (and what doesn't work) when they play teams at their own division. It is better to know now, than in the third round of the playoffs that has not been kind to the team from Independence. Also, SK has the rest of the season and the early round of the playoffs to get things in order. Also, give Ryle some credit for coming out and showing they have some fight in them. This may be the game that gets the "ship" going in the right direction. Not sure about them beating Campbell County though.

I can assure you nobody from Campbell is underestimating anybody. I haven't seen anyone from Campbell beating on their chest on any thread claiming anything. Don't drag us into this saying we are overlooking anybody. We focus one game at a time.
