We all have something, maybe a lot of somethings, that scare us.

Maybe it is horror movies about killers. Or snakes. Or clowns. Or nuns.

For me it is the paranormal. I'm not paralyzed by it, but everytime I was one of those "hauntings" type of shows, I get goose bumps and I feel the hair on my arms and neck stand up and I get this pit in my stomach. Rationally I know it is harmless but there is something about that type of spiritual goings on that just put my nerves on edge.

I've never had a paranormal experience and I don't know if I really believe in it or not, but it does kind of freak me out. It is really out of character for me too, as I am a very rational, and very skeptical, person by nature. Maybe that is what makes this mroe scary for me because I can't explain my feelings and they are way off base for me.

Everyday I witness while driving, motorists and pedestrians alike doing really dangerous things.

Drivers cutting other drivers off, or turning left from right hand lanes, again cutting other drivers off.

Pedestrians walking out in front of motorists with zero regard for how they're effecting the traffic flow, and appearing to be oblivious to what they are doing, or knowing but just don't care, or teaching their children the same bad habits.

Or kids on bikes following zero sense when darting here and there in the line of traffic.

The list of dangerous things go on and on, and sometimes people invent new ways to be dangerous.

I live in the inner city, so incidences of craziness is perpetual, and perhaps are more frequent than one might see in suburban areas.

When you're out there you really have to stay completely alert and be on guard, and even when you are doing your very best to avoid trouble, you might sway away from one problem right into another.

Sometimes that perfect unfortunate storm is brewing and you unknowingly can be headed for disaster.

Just yesterday I was a pedestrian in downtown Cincinnati legally crossing at 7th & Vine when a guy blows a red and is coming right at me. I hold my hand up while scurrying out of his path, and he sticks his head out to apologize to me, and while he keeps moving he almost runs someone else over.

My fear is that although I seem to thankfully keep avoiding near misses, that one day I will not be so fortunate and I'll be involved in a wreck, or even run over a pedestrian or cyclist that jets out of nowhere ( like from behind a truck).

Angels must be working overtime because with as much dumb stuff I see, it's surprising there aren't more disastrous outcomes.

When I do hear of disaster I'm not the least bit surprised.

I live in daily fear that my luck is bound to run dry, but I stay extremely responsible and alert while hoping beyond hope that it doesn't.
