I'm right there with you. The only way you're getting me on a plane is to knock me out.

 

I've gotten better with snakes, because they're all around my house. I still won't handle them by hand, but I'll grab a stick to pick them up and throw them back into the woods. In the past, I'd scream like a little girl and bash them over the head with a shovel.

 

Being a parent, my #1 fear is something happening to my kids.

 

I'd move immediately. I need to build that into my home contract.

I flew to Montana a couple years back when my brother played rookie ball out there. 3 flights from here to Billings. First flight I took 1 xanax. Had a massive panic attack and was provided free drink tickets for the remainder of my Delta flights. Second flight I took 2 xanax...and a red wine. 3rd flight I ate some food beforehand, took a xanax and had...another red wine. Passed out on my dad's stomach drooling. I fell on the bed at the hotel and remember nothing else after that. Pulled a total Whitney.

 

I do remember all the casinos at night lit up as I flew over them from MN to Montana...that was pretty magical.

Never had a horror movie scare me. I think they are all too predictable.

I don't know if it helped that it was spread out over the course of 13 hours, but...by the end of that night, I was floating. It was scary. The problem is, and I didn't realize at the time, the xanax hit quite a bit after I'd take it. So I'd take one and think "I don't feel anything...OMG we're going to take off" and I'd start downing the drink. THEN it would hit.

 

No idea how I didn't end up at the ER.

You and me both. I fly at least once a year if not more and hate it every time. Went to Europe last year, almost 9 hours in the air. If it's smooth I can finally start to relax and kind of forget I'm flying, as soon as the slightest bump and butt hole back to full on pucker. I honestly looked into driving to NOLA this time but just can't make it work. Just have to suck it up...

My Fears

Bees- I was stung by 30 once as a kid at the same time and now have a minor panic attack every time one is around.

 

 

Wireman, have you been to Cedar Point? My son and I are hardcore roller coaster fanatics and have gone to CP the past three years. Check it out sometime if you haven't already..... roller coaster heaven..

To be honest, it looks like the western variety, but who can really say? It looks more like a lynx in the face than the bobcat I've seen all over EKY.

Nope they're from the northern US and Canada. If that was a pic from here, it's a bobcat no doubt. I have one mounted descending a rock in my basement. We affectionately refer to him as Robert.
