Kids today-How they differ from then til now.

One thing I see nobody knows how to right letters anymore, they text. Some teens act like they would just die without their phones, Ipads or whatever gadget they have. Were I've seen now they wanna hang out at place of businesses acting like they wanna be like Snoop Doggy Dog when they need to find a Jobby-Job. If I threatened to call 911 on my parents they would make sure, my parents would make sure I had a reason to do so. It seems now a days teens like to challenge older adults just to reup their reputations, whatever it maybe. I've seen this more so now then it used to be when I was growing up.

And this thing called SWAG?? If you wanna show your behind don't just mess around do it and pull up your draws like you got some sense.:taz::taz::taz:

Just my rant and point of view.

I agree with most everything you said other than writing letters. Why would I write someone a letter when I can Facetime, email, text, or call and instantly talk to them? Unless you are in jail or in the military there is zero chance I'd write you a letter.

The main issue that I see is they can't spell.

Beat me to it.

My 14 year olds can't write in cursive because they haven't been taught. They sign their names in print

And they don't care that they can't spell.

The total lack of respect out of a lot of kids today is simply SHOCKING!!!!! I remember back in the day you watched your "P's" & "Q'S" around adults, nowadays it's "carte blanche" for most youths, with ZERO fear.

Lots of youth cannot look an adult in the eye and communicate effectively. Maybe it comes with time, but everybody's eyes are used to staring at a screen.

Kids call their coaches and other adults by their first name.

Never happened when I was a kid. My dad would have knocked me back in time if it even crossed my mind.

To kids, adults are viewed as equivalents (and older ones at that). I squirm when my younger son's friends call me by my first name. Maybe part of the problem is our fault (adults, that is). We try so hard to "relate" to Gen X and Y that don't act our age enough to be taken seriously.

I was thinking Math, but you could be right.

When my order at McDonald's is $5.76 & I give them $6.01, they stare at me like I just stepped off a spaceship.

There is no difference in the kids. The difference is in their parents.

Well, only if they punched in the $6.00 and you tried to come in late with the penny. That would require addition in their heads.

Honestly, I wish more kids played cards for money like we did back in the day with our families. Taught me a lot of basic math and how to perform calculations in my head.
