Ever since I was old enough to remember I have only known Highlands as the "Best of the Best" when it comes to KY Football.

 

I can still remember my first ever NFL game came the day after we travelled to watch a Belfry/Highlands playoff game as a family. It was "too cold" for me to go to the Belfry game my parents decided so I hung out in the hotel we were staying as my dad went and I was so sad when Belfry lost in OT 20-14. For almost 25 years now I have only viewed Highlands as the crème de la crème.

Should be a good crowd for the game Saturday too with all these old farts attending. The 25th anniversary of Higlands/Paducah Tilghman state championship game. Both teams have head coaches that played in that game also.

I would say that Highlands could name the score on just about anyone in the country with an All Century Team...Pretty kool to think that so many really good football players will get to enjoy a game together watching the Program play football and continue the Tradition that they help build:thumb:

Nope, actually I think the people that choose to be there Saturday will be the same guys that have always put the Program before themselves. That Program didn't get built by a bunch of complainers and me, me, me kind of guys. :thumb:

 

I know the current Highlands kids are seeing as an honor to be playing this Sat before their peers and so many of their childhood HS heroes...

I love when the school honors their history. Today was a fun day with the school honoring the '57 team, which they termed the team that launched the modern era of Highlands football success. Also every former Highlands coach since 54 was in attendance, except one (you can probably guess which one). Great day celebrating.

Can't wait to see everyone at celebration. Saturday games never draw enough fans. Disappointed with turnout today.
