Is RG3 done in Washington?

Featured Replies

Had this discussion after he went down today. Cousins has shown to be a very good QB and RG3 can't stay healthy. If he is done for the season, does he start for them next year? Backup? Traded?

Yes. Out for the season. Cousins will step in and perform well enough that the team won't be able to take the job away from him IMO.

I can remember discussions about

Luck or RgIII. No discussion now!

It'll be interesting to see just how good Cousins really is. I remember when people thought Matt Flynn was going to be awesome.

Whether he's done or not might depend on his contract situation, that is, if the team is obligated to apy him, then I think he would be more likely to remain a 'Skin.

RGIII Is a bust if you ask me and if it wasn't for Daniel Snyder and his man love for RGIII he wouldn't have even been a starter last year or this year.

The best thing that happened for Jay Gruden is RG getting hurt because Jay had no say in who the starting QB was. Snyder made that clear with the last coach

I can't possibly see how they keep and trust him given his health issues.

Cousins' play might answer the question but you have to think RG3's window is closing in Washington.

Larger body of work for Cousins as compared to Flynn. I'll be surprised if he's Flynn bad. Not saying he's going to be a star, but in terms of guys who are backups, he's probably at the top of most lists.

The job already shouldn't have belonged to RGIII, so yeah, he's done.

Under Gruden he was going to struggle to be effective. He is best when he can threaten with his legs. The right coach who knows how to use his talents might give him the opportunity to be really good in the NFL. He does have awful injury luck, though.

Yes. Larger body of work. 1-3 as a starter. After today he has 10 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in his career.

There's a reason he has never been able to pass RGIII.

Just saying....

From the time I saw this at the combine I figured there would be some injury issues with him. image.jpg

Is it too early for me to say "I told you so" about Kirk Cousins?

People were high on Cousins but let's not forget he was still a fourth round draft selection, not a first. To me this whole debate between the two QBs is more of an indictment against RG3 with his regression. Since his knee injury, any action he has seen has been just as bad or worse than Cousins. Griffin has more potential for sure, but his head is all out of whack for me to believe he can ever succeed in the NFL. If he can correct that then he has some hope, assuming he can stay healthy.
