That's why he suspends him indefinitely. The NFLPA will have to file a grievance to get the policy adhered to. Once they do that they become the bad guys and the NFL looks like the "good guys" for "trying to do the right thing".

 

I would not want to be an officer in the NFLPA. In this case they have to defend him. The policy is 6 games for a first offense. Clear cut. They have a good case.

He levies the fines and punishments and then hears the appeals. We've seen how well Goodell spends the "truth," do you think that he questions his own fallability? I don't.

Wouldn't Rice go straight to a court of law in this case? After all, the NFL passed judgment, and now they want to change direction because they (The NFL) got outed with the video being released. In other words, the NFL was protecting the brand and Ray Rice was their boy in this one and now it's "all blowed up."

 

I'm just guessing here, but if you sign off on a punishment for restitution, isn't that a legally binding contract? Would this be a breach by the NFL?

I agree and have been thinking this for the last few weeks. In short, Goodell cannot be the final say in anything any longer. They need independent, binding arbitration in all discipline matters.

Yep, the NFL and the Ravens are liars if they say they didn't see it. No way I believe either of them. I mean no way, no how, ever. The are liars!
