You are so clueless. DeSales chooses to stay small, it's what sets us apart from the big box private schools.

Sorry, it was no slight to Desales. You could throw any other name in there, the outcome is the same.

The above is the text equivalent of a pat on the head. :watching:

Its better for some other teams to win some titles.....except class 1A...

DeSales has ALWAYS been a great choice for a Catholic education. My son went to Trinity, but the reason had nothing to do with any other school offering a "lesser" education. Holy Cross and St. X were also considered. In the end he chose Trinity because that's where he felt he fit in. And Riverside, most of his cousins went to X. While some X and T grads think they're the only excellent education in Louisville, they are wrong. I can't even believe you threw CAL into the discussion. That's an EXCELLENT school. I do notice you didn't mention St. Francis or Collegiate.

I will add, Manual is THE best school in Louisville. I think Ballard is a really good school, and several magnets are very good programs.

In Jefferson county, there are quite a few really, really good choices outside of X & T.

Trinity is going thru what Cincinnati StX has gone thru the last 3-4 years. Both play tremendous schedules (both in state and out of state). When the "great" talent graduates, then the above average (but not great) talent, is left with a demanding schedule and you may see .500 seasons. But both Trinity and CincyStX will rebound.

Manual's test scores have been on the decline as of late if I'm not mistaken. But as a whole it's an excellent school. My whole immediate family went there: mother, sister.

I don't know to what degree the difference between an X and T diploma is, because they're both highly revered and regarded. But there is a difference between those two diplomas and the other private/catholic school diplomas.

e.g. If a '12 Desales grad and a '12 X grad applies for the same position at a company, the X grad is more than likely to get the interview; if both interview and have the same qualities/resume etc the job will go to the X grad.

Unless they are applying for a job outside of Louisville where no one else sees the difference.

I blame the Lousiville Purge for Trinity's rough start. Also, as we all know, Simon Kenton is the most dominant football team in the history of history and people are leaving every county in KY to move to Independence to completely dominate classes 1A-6A and any future classes not yet invented.

I think this thread may display a bit of wishful thinking... JMO.

Correct. But inside the city lines there is a difference which is all I was referring too.

If I am hiring a position I could really give a flip as to where they went to high school. I work with people that went to Ivy League schools & I went to Morehead State & we have the same job & the same rate of pay. But thats none of my business, if a company wants to hang their hat on a high school diploma, no matter what name of the school is on it, thats on them.

Back to St X football. Wait......Never mind. Nothing to see there. Move along.

A DeSales football fan talking smack to St. X football fans...ain't this site something else?
