Is the shine coming off the Rock?

Featured Replies

What does Trinity's schedule look like for 2015? Part of Trinity's recent success has been their move into national-program status, a move precipitated in part because of their dominance of 4A/6A football. Now that they have come back to the pack just a tad, I'm curious if move upper echelon teams in Kentucky will schedule them or if they will have to continue playing a national schedule?

Some folks actually send their kids to high school to get an education and play sports, as opposed to going to high school to play football or basketball and get an education.

And, unfortunately, vice versa. IMO Some people let sports have too much impact on this decision.

You can not receive a St. X education and diploma at Trinity, DeSales, Holy Cross, Christian Academy etc. . . . There IS a difference!!!!!!

That's just remarkable.

Also, part of the move to a more regional/national schedule is because a number of JCPS "chose" not to play Trinity. They had to go somewhere to get in more than 3 games.

Just before this gets out of hand... 10 of the last 15 big school state titles, including the three prior to last year. When exactly did that shine come off?

Amen. And I'd probably say that instead of the shine coming off, perhaps some other schools are starting to polish themselves up a little more. Big school football in Kentucky is better when the Catholic schools, Louisville schools and county schools are all competitive. The only missing group is Lexington city schools.

PRP, Male, St. X, Moeller, Eastern, Jeffersontown, Ballard, and Seneca are locked in for 2015 and 2016. The last four listed are district games.

I don't know to what degree the difference between an X and T diploma is, because they're both highly revered and regarded. But there is a difference between those two diplomas and the other private/catholic school diplomas.

e.g. If a '12 Desales grad and a '12 X grad applies for the same position at a company, the X grad is more than likely to get the interview; if both interview and have the same qualities/resume etc the job will go to the X grad.

There IS a difference; The difference is that Trinity, DeSales, and Holy Cross folks don't make comments like this.

Folks you need to go back and understand why the post was made in the first place!!!! Someone commented that if the Christian Academy's, DeSales and Holy Cross' start winning state championships on a regular basis, then St. X would lose enrolement and athletes to these schools. I don't see it that way. 95% of the parents that send their kids to St X is for the education, not to play "sports"..... IMHO! If all your interested in is your child playing football on a championship team, attend a football school.

You are so clueless. DeSales chooses to stay small, it's what sets us apart from the big box private schools.
