Highlands 23 Campbell County 16

That feeling when you win a game and leave with the feeling that your team lost.

I got that feeling.

When was the last time Highlands only scored 23 points in a game? I would guess in the last 8 years, that has happened maybe a couple times.

Oh the horror, the horror.....:lol2: It's ok to validate a solid second half effort by the Camels, or not! Amusing a fan base can be so critical/concerned about winning by a small margin. A W is a W...

In 2006 they only scored 15 in their playoff loss. Only time I can remember. I only remember because I was there more or less. It doesn't happen often, especially to an in state/county opponent.

Hard to score when you have two or three penalties on every drive. HHS needs to let Beau run the ball more imo. He made some kids look silly the few times he did run. Like people said the run game is nonexistent. Birds need to clean it up or it could be a frustrating year. I hope DJ Mills will be ok. He has been the MVP on the defensive side so far this year.

Mills was ready for a HUGE year.

So Mills is out for the season? Seriously? Where did you hear this?

DJ told me walking out that is what the doc said. He has to see a surgeon tomorrow.

Uh ... you do know I am a Beechwood fan, right? I wasn't at the game. I am just making an observation.

Hasn't been determined, could be 2-3 weeks I overheard. His Dad was near me in the stands. Boxer fracture, wrist as well. I feel for the kid, he's a hard nosed player.

What I saw (and I left at the end if the third cause I had the young fellas with me)

HHS killed themselves with penalties, over and under thrown passes, a drop and some poor reads. Hoge will be unreal, but looked like he needed some polish. Many bird receivers open all over the field and we either under threw them, over threw them or picked the wrong one to throw to. They will fixe that. I'm not concerned right now.

As for CC, wow! Their backs came out in the second half energized. Looking like they wanted to run and hit people. Moving piles of bird at a time. The line looked good in the second half and the more stops they got and yard they got, the more confident they got. They literally looked like the bad news bears I'm the first quarter and came back and won the next three.

In the end, CC will be solid in 6a and the birds will continue to get better with time.

Very nice tribute to Greg Rose at the half. He left behind a great looking family.

Lickert has never coached at Harrison.

As far as HHS calling off the dogs, CCHS simply outplayed HHS for three quaters.

You mean HHS shot themselves in the foot for 3 quarters with more false start penalties than I have seen in the past 3 years combined. Clean it up Birds!!!! I did like the way CCHS came out with some fire in the second half, good luck to Coach Lickert and the boys the rest of the way.

Very proud of the way CCHS never gave up after being down 23-0. Showed a lot of heart coming out of halftime and played tough hard nosed football. HHS played on a short field the majority of the first half, I believe their worst field position was their own 40. When CCHS puts it all together and plays all 4 quarters they are going to be one dynamite team. Proud of ya boys keep getting better. Go Camels. :thumb:
