Insomnia

I don't wish it on anyone. Been a struggle for the past two weeks.

Same.

It used to worry me. Not so much since I retired. I'll catch up eventually.

No fun when you're clock-watching and you have to be up for the day in a couple hours, though.

Agreed, now it's just frustrating...if I had to get up and go to work in the morning it would stink.

The NyQuil Sleep Aid is pretty good, it won't knock you out but in my case it would make me drowsy enough to fall asleep.

My insomnia is hopefully going to be cured after this week. Mr. lawildcat is getting fitted for his cpap machine tomorrow evening which will get rid of his loud, constant snoring.

We are both looking forward to being well rested!

Good Luck with that...

I know, right! I've heard the machine makes a lot of noise but it's a constant noise rather than silence mixed in with loud snorts that startle me awake when I do finally get to sleep.

Perfect example of this — I had a meeting at 9 that I needed to be at. I turned off the alarm at 8:15 and apparently didn't get up fast enough, and fell right back to sleep.

Mrs. Nkypete has one and it is very quiet (and so is she when she wears the mask). If she forgets and falls asleep without putting it on, her snoring is worse than it ever was. The only bad thing about my wife wearing a mask and using a cpap machine is that I need to keep reminding myself, "she is still hot...she is still hot...".

I sleep with a small fan on beside the bed. I even have a folding one I take for travel. With the white noise, I sleep fine. Without it, everything wakes me up.

When I was about 10 or 11, I got a clock radio for Christmas one year. It had a timer on it, that you could turn and have the radio shut off when the timer was done. As a kid, I thought that was pretty neat, so I used it...a lot. Eventually the timer broke, so the radio would stay on all night. But, it never kept me awake. In fact, I think it had the opposite affect on me...now, I can sleep through anything! Often times I'll get up and my wife and son will be talking about a loud thunderstorm that happened overnight, and I'll just say "it rained last night?" :lol2:

I have three fans in my room. :lol2:

Me too! Heck I can sleep through about anything.

I set three alarms for every 2 minutes for this reason. If I have only one alarm set than I will inevitably, at some point, screw it up. For your example I would have set 8:13, 8:15, and 8:17.

I typically go to bed sometime between 10:30 pm - 1 am and get up around 5:15 am with one good weekly nap for about an hour thrown in.
