What you know is you are the next team on the schedule. Haha. No disrespect to Mayfield. Great program with the championships to prove it. But really, who were they supposed to be chanting that they wanted. Someone they play in the 5th game on the schedule.

Trust me...they want to beat Mayfield bad...that's why they chant and after this game there will be no more chanting.

I'm gonna go with a gut feeling here and say MC by a couple of scores, maybe something like 34-24.

I've watched both teams play and feel that McCracken should be the favorite. I agree that the speed/size on both sides virtually negate each other, but I feel the Mustangs will expose the Cardinals undersized secondary with the likes of Jones, Alexander, and others. I think it will be close game with McCracken pulling away by a couple of scores late 3rd or early 4th. Mustangs 42-27.

For Mayfield's part, would love to see this game being played where the Marshall game falls. A few weeks into the season and cooler weather would certainly benefit Mayfield. With that being said, it is what it is. Just think there is still too much that Mayfield needs to improve upon to give them much more than an outside chance of winning this, but stranger things have happened.

This is really the year for McCracken Co. to beat up on the rest of West Kentucky. PT down, Mayfield down, Graves down, Marshall always down, Henderson down. It seems that McCracken may wear the region crown more by default than anything else. Can't see the Mustangs getting any deeper than last year unless the next region is down too.

Odds are the Mustangs won't make it out of the 1st round. They are matched up with the Super District this year.

I respectfully disagree. This year's Mustang crew could be much better than last year's squad. What killed them in the second round of the playoffs was the loss of two key defensive linemen at the end of the season. Hughes is a year older. Rasheed Jones can fill Troutman's big shoes. There is some new talent on the line and some of last year's underclassmen are developing nicely. Cash Jones, a sophomore, gives MC options and depth at QB and Hughes as a WR or RB is a sweet prospect!! I see them doing well in the playoffs!

But first things first! Mayfield can beat most 3A and many 4A schools. Friday night will be tough!

The old saying is if you have 2 Quarterbacks then you really have none. This strategy for the season feels like a mistake to me. But what do I know.

I suspect Cash Jones might start to get the majority of the snaps. Hughes is so versatile and Cash is suppose to have superb speed.

That has been the plan all along. Having 2 receivers the caliber of Jones and Hughes would give any team fits.

I suspect that Mayfield would prefer to have Cash Jones under center, the pressure that will be coming at him he will likley not handle nearly as well as Hughes would. in order for those recievers to be effective they will have to get thrown a good ball, which wont be easy with Mayfields defense. Truth told, Alexander is best reciever the Mustangs have but they dont use him like they should.

I agree that Morgan Alexander is under utilized offense, but he has been lights out on defense. If Hughes moves to receiver he easily becomes the top target at receiver, and has the best hands on a receiver that I've seen in a long time. I doubt the Mustangs will throw Cash into the starting role for the Mayfield game, but I do feel it might happen midway through the season.

Nice props to Alexander! Had a fine game against PT.

Best game in the state this week and Mayfield will win 31-30.

Alexander is a heck of a defender and was laying the wood on Saturday night. Interesting sidenote, Alexander and Marshall Bacon for Mayfield are cousins. Should be fun.
