Johnny Manziel flips someone off during Browns-Redskins

Featured Replies

The NFL was great LONG before he got there. The League doesn't need that stuff to be successful.

He was just keeping up foreign relations.

Brian Orakpo of Washington Redskins calls middle-finger salute 'hilarious' - ESPN

"The Washington Redskins wanted to have a little fun with Johnny Football.

So they shouted at him from the sidelines and reminded him of his new status -- as a rookie, not a college stud.

Then Johnny Manziel flipped them off, and the gesture was caught by the TV cameras and most of the Redskins' sideline.

Rather than taking offense, the Redskins mostly found it funny.

"It was hilarious," said Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo, who was pegged by one teammate as the instigator. "We were messing with him a little bit, just saying this ain't college and stuff like that. We were having a little fun."

I think they should start Connor Shaw.

I hope he starts week one.

The great thing about fresh new starts is that you can really begin anew without any prior reputation following you.

I'd imagine that in the trenches and pile-ups during most games, much worse is being said that's what's implied by the middle finger, but if you are Manziel, you just have to be smarter than that. Now teams are just going to go at him even harder.

Maybe he was just waving hello to the other sideline and was a little tired so he couldn't lift all of his fingers at one time.

I hope he's fined and this blows over quickly.

Not a big deal, but not appropriate, either.

Wait until Vontez Burfict bites little Johnny's middle finger off......Then what? Not a matter of if but when he meets Vontez on the field for some one on one time together.

Much ado about nothing, IMHO.

I remember when Vick flipped off Atlanta Falcons fans.....There's wasn't nearly as much outcry as there is now over Manziel doing it.

He didn't flip of the fans, he flipped off the Washington players who were talking trash to him on the field.

Flipping off Burfict would not be a good idea. Or Pac for that matter. Those dudes are CRAZY!
