Everybody relax. These things happen at these big' date=' win at all costs schools.[/quote']

But at some schools they would be calling for football to be banned.

Just go the UNC route and everyrhing should be good for ND.

I'm almost convinced that unless the NCAA has video and dna evidence , major d1 schools have very little to worry about.

My position has been consistent on this for every team when the NCAA threatens "vacating wins", not because I am a ND fan. That is the dumbest punishment ever. If you commit a violation and penalized by reducing scholarships, removing TV rights, firing the coach, or whatever, that is fine and we can debate the merits of it. But levying a "vacating" of win penalty has never made sense to me. People are not going to say, Alabama beat _______ in the National Title game in 2013. Same for Memphis vacating wins in their title run season.

Good to hear ND did the internal investigation, puts them ahead of many programs.

Rape scandal. Death scandal. Cheating scandal. Not the trinity the Irish were hoping for when they hired the politician from New England...

At least ND takes academic fraud serious and to heart. Unlike North Carolina.

I'm with MR on this one. Glad to see them own up to it instead of hiding behind lawyers and denying the whole thing. Proud of them for that piece...and still ashamed of UNC.

Let's hope the athletic department didn't know anything.

I'm shocked...that they were caught.

Well they caught themselves and turned themselves in. Are you shocked the university was caught or that the players were caught. Very few institutions would take the road that ND is taking. They have self imposed the forfeiting of games. None of that has come from the NCAA at this point.

My question is when does this along with the QB cheating and Teo issues along with the scaffolding issue begin to push Kelly out the door.

I was being flippant. I'm never surprised when a major program has done some sort of cheating. I don't believe all major program's cheat in the same manner or with the same frequency, but I believe all major program's cheat in one way or another.

To me, the cheating part isn't a big deal. The guys needed to know that an institution like Notre Dame will not mess around with academic fraud like some other schools may...like with a couple game suspension.

You and I agreee 100%. I am never surprised either. And I know they are saying that BK had no knowledge, but it really seems to me that constant disturbing issues should be raising some severe red flags....

Lots of rumors floating out there that four Notre Dame starters will be expelled & wins from the entire 2012 & 2013 seasons could be vacated...

If they have to vacate their 2012 season wins, that will be a huge blow to the program.

Has anyone been to ND in the last couple years? They treat that season like it was a National Championship season. In their bookstore they sell a ton of merchandise touting that season etc.

It was a huge season to give Brian Kelly the credibility he needed to coach a big time program like Notre Dame.

That would be a huge blow to the ego if they forfeit those wins.

Agree! Brian Kelly is grossly overrated in my book. He can't get gone soon enough!

Ha. I'll be able to say that UK had a better season than ND. That doesn't happen too very often.
