August 18, 201412 yr Hoover does not blow that game if he starts the ninth! I understand the bullpen was brutal (Marty's word) both games, and that's the bullpen as a whole. But, Hoover can never be this team's best option. His W-L record is 1-9, and he's a reliever. I'm no expert, but that seems like he gives up a lot of go-ahead runs. :banghead: His ERA is like 5.70ish, and he's a reliever. I guess that might lead to a 1-9 mark from the pen. Run anyone you want out there, including any minor leaguer or retread. Can't watch Hoover continue to fail anymore. Reds are toast, and have been for awhile. Injuries played a significant part. But, I've lost a lot of faith in the guys making decisions both on and off the field during this bad-boy of a season.
August 18, 201412 yr On the bright side, they are starting to score some runs. :isurrender: In Colorado
August 18, 201412 yr Why is Chapman so different that you have to use him once he warms up? So if he warms up for the 9th inning but sits down and throws 0 pitches he can't pitch the Night game? And this is after an Off Day? And this is an All-Star? They are in Colorado, afterall....just saying it. I know you guys are thinking it too.
August 18, 201412 yr Wow! Stopped watching first game after Reds scored their 9th run, figured it was a win. Wake up to see both losses. Game set match for the Reds! They're done! too bad, kept thinking they were just a few game win streak out of it but not happening now. Wonder if Price is in too far over his head.
August 18, 201412 yr Not even a sabremetric savior can help them now.:idunno: The good news it that the sabremetric savior can be sat down for the rest of the year and hopefully be 100% in '15.

August 18, 201412 yr In Colorado Good point. The problem isn't that the Reds can't hit, it's insufficient elevation. Do the Reds play La Paz on this road trip??
