Congratulations Mr. Hedger! Make NKY proud!

Congratulations to Andrew, I know he has worked hard and put in a lot of time to make this a reality.

Any word on whether he will redshirt or play his freshman year? Congrats!

Choach Cannon feels Andrew will be able to compete for the starting TE spot. Cannon also said they just signed a deal to play UK and Tennessee next season.

Congratulations! I am sure it feels good to have this decision made and now being able to focus on playing his senior season of football.

Congratulations to Andrew, his family, Dixie Heights, and Austin Peay. Continued success and best wishes for a great senior season! :thumb:

It would not surprise me at all to see this young man get moved to the offensive line. Not a knock on his skills at all because he is a very good TE, but with the size he has and the way college strength training programs "beef kids up" I could definitely see that happening. Either way, congrats to the young man and good luck to him.

First, congratulations to Hedger! He's a very good athlete and an even better kid. AP is getting a good one.

Second, and to your point, I believe the coach has mentioned how Hedge will play TE and that he thinks he can be a very good TE. Not sure it's in the plans to make him a lineman.

Playing TE is the reason Andrew picked AP.

Many coaches love huge tight ends, they see them as offensive tackles that can catch. They use them as tackles, to block, 70% of the time, then send them short when the defense adjusts. I think Andrew's size is what will keep him at tight end.

AP wants him at 245_250 range. He's 230. Coach Cannon sold Andrew with the statement "How would you like to get 40 reception a year."

Also AP said they are weak at TE. They need a guy that has the height to make plays over LBs and block DEs.
