August 13, 201412 yr The "Back to School" whining at my house: "I can't go to bed because the sun is still out." "Do I have to sit at a table with 2 girls?" "Why do I have to tuck my shirt in?" What are they saying at your house?
August 13, 201412 yr My girl is a senior and has been excited about going back to school for weeks now. There was an impromptu car decorating up on the hill last night to get them all ready for the drive! I am loving the excitement and hope it continues throughout the year with absolutely no senioritis! (Crossing my fingers...)
August 13, 201412 yr I'm sure Randy has been too busy avoiding Getsl...eh...Scur Farkus to have any BTS whining.
August 13, 201412 yr Author So one of my guys has worn those Nike or Adidas athletic pants to school for the last 4 years. Always clean and neat, no holes, etc. Easy peasy. This year, at a public middle school, he is required to wear jeans or khakis, no elastic waist pants. Why, you ask? So that kids can't "pants" each other. (Pull down another kids' pants.) What the heck?

Not to nitpick, but you may be thinking of seniorosis - condition of the senior. As opposed to senioritis - inflammation or swelling of the senior. I know you don't want the latter.
August 13, 201412 yr Unfortunately I’ve been the biggest whiner today… ha ha Have to get up an hour earlier… Have to keep up with grocery shopping and start packing lunches… Have to keep up with laundry and keep track of uniforms, belts, etc… With construction in front of my kid's school I’m predicting morning doses of ibuprofen… In all honesty I know these times are fleeting and precious and will henceforth reframe my attitude and try to catch the excitement. Thanks for giving me a place to vent Hoops 5…
August 13, 201412 yr Author ^ I hear ya Pura Vida! You are not alone. I loath packing lunches! We are already planning a very early departure because of construction by the school. I have found the belts.... at least for tomorrow. Filling out that back to school paperwork right now. Anticipate a very fitful night of sleep as I fear I will oversleep on the first day of school---like Kevin's mom in "Home Alone". :lol2:

August 13, 201412 yr What are they saying at your house? Randy, I wish you made more money so that I wouldn't have to work.
August 13, 201412 yr Daddy's Little Girl 2.0 can't wait to start, the original Daddy's Little Girl doesn't start till the 25th. However, wait till next Wednesday when DLG 3.0 starts......"the :poop: will hit the fan" the night before.
August 13, 201412 yr Always makes me think of Trace Adkin's song "You're Gonna Miss This" Absolutely love this song. Listened to it often during my last year of college. Made many friends listen to it as well.
August 13, 201412 yr My 6 year old granddaughter, Sylvia, got right up yesterday and got ready with nary a whine. She had a great day at school. Her mother, the school's assistant principal, not so much. Before they left for school, my grandson, who turns 3 in two weeks and who they are trying to potty train, proudly pooped in the dining room. When I say proud, I mean he presents it like a game show model presenting a new car on the Price Is Right. Look Mommy!!! Ta Da!!! The daughter-in-law thought it was funny when he did it to Mrs. S last week. That's the only room in their house that has carpeting. Somehow it took the humor right out of it for her, this time. Then she got to school. With a new principal above her to deal with, new teachers, and new students she was over stressed by the final bell, to say the least. She stopped and got a gallon of ice cream on the way home. Sylvia thought that was a grand idea. I don't know what happened today, though. I assume the lack of information is a good thing?
